From our Remembering Division:

Friday 6th August 2004 : Republican Sen. John McCain, chairman of President Bush's campaign in Arizona, called an ad by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth criticizing John Kerry's military service "dishonest and dishonorable" and urged the White House on Thursday to condemn it as well.

"It was the same kind of deal that was pulled on me," McCain said in an interview with The Associated Press, comparing the anti-Kerry ad to tactics in his bitter Republican primary fight with President Bush.

The 60-second ad features Vietnam veterans who accuse the Democratic presidential nominee of lying about his decorated Vietnam War record and betraying his fellow veterans by later opposing the conflict.

"When the chips were down, you could not count on John Kerry," one of the veterans, Larry Thurlow, says in the ad. Thurlow didn't serve on Kerry's swift boat, but says he witnessed the events that led to Kerry winning a Bronze Star and the last of his three Purple Hearts. Kerry's crew mates support the candidate and call him a hero.

The ad, scheduled to air in a few markets in Ohio, West Virginia and Wisconsin, was produced by Stevens, Reed, Curcio and Potham, the same team that produced McCain's ads in 2000.

"I wish they hadn't done it," McCain said of his former advisers. "I don't know if they knew all the facts."

"I deplore this kind of politics," McCain said. "I think the ad is dishonest and dishonorable. As it is, none of these individuals served on the boat (Kerry) commanded. Many of his crew have testified to his courage under fire. I think John Kerry served honorably in Vietnam."

Retired Adm. Roy Hoffmann, head of the Swift Boat group, said they respected McCain's "right to express his opinion and we hope he extends to us the same respect and courtesy, particularly since we served with John Kerry, we knew him well and Sen. McCain did not."

I've been reading Scott Swett and Tim Ziegler's brilliant and inspiring history of the SwiftVets impact on the 2004 campaign, "To Set the Record Straight." I'll review the book another time, but suffice it to say that, in the space of 328 pages, plus 40 pages of footnotes, they make it crystal clear that the SwiftVets were honest, honorable, truthful and accurate to a fault...But were themselves the targets of a gross, furious, dishonest, and dishonorable campaign by the MSM/Dhim axis to abort their historical revelations.

And John McCain, for his own egotistical, perverse and short-sighted reasons, took it upon himself to join the MSM/Dhim lynch mob. Idiot. Fortunately he/they failed, heheh.

Note that Sen. Bob Dole stood by the SwiftVets in 2004, as a real hero and team player should.

Three little words that I'LL NEVER FORGIVE Sen. McCain for: DISHONEST AND DISHONORABLE.

I can't say it any better than Mr. Kessler does:

Romney Is the Real Deal
Wednesday, December 26, 2007 7:53 AM

By: Ronald Kessler

Last April, Newsmax magazine ran a cover story headlined, “Romney to the Rescue: Romney’s Got the Right Stuff for 2008.”

Based on interviews I conducted with Mitt Romney and his friends, family, and aides, as well as with critics and neutral observers, the profile depicted him as a remarkably successful businessman and conservative governor with impeccable character.

Since the Newsmax article appeared nothing has changed.

No one has revealed that Romney appointed a close friend as police chief who has since been indicted for dealings involving figures with ties to the Mafia, as is the case with Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani did this even though he was warned about red flags in the candidate's background.

There have been no revelations that Romney commuted or pardoned 1,033 criminals, including 12 murderers, as did Mike Huckabee. To the contrary, Romney granted no commutations or pardons as governor. Nor did Romney raise taxes. In contrast, by the end of his 10-year tenure, Huckabee was responsible for a 37 percent hike in the sales tax in Arkansas. Spending increased by 65 percent — three times the rate of inflation.

Huckabee joined Democrats in criticizing the Republican Party for tilting its tax policies “toward the people at the top end of the economic scale.” He aligned himself with Democrats and showed an ignorance of the Bush administration’s extensive diplomatic efforts when he said the White House has an “arrogant bunker mentality.”

In contrast to his nice guy public image, when Huckabee asked in a New York Times Magazine interview, “Don’t Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?” he belied nastiness and demonstrated what George Will has rightfully suggested is bigotry.

Huckabee’s serial ethics violations and misuse of funds to maintain the governor’s mansion in Arkansas for restaurant meals, pantyhose, and dry cleaning bills recalls Bill and Hillary Clinton’s improper appropriation of White House furniture and chinaware for their Chappaqua, N.Y, home.

Unlike Fred Thompson, Romney has not been revealed to have a lazy streak. Aside from being a key backer of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance bill, in his eight years in the Senate, Thompson was the primary sponsor of only four pieces of legislation, none of any significance. On the campaign trail, the sour-looking Thompson has distinguished himself as someone who schedules two or three events a week and often cancels at the last minute.

A former CIA officer recalls what happened when Thompson and seven other members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Committee visited Pakistan in late 2002.

“The other senators, including John Edwards, attended the classified intelligence briefing,” the former officer says. “Thompson blew it off and spent a lot of time drinking and eating.”

Finally, Romney has not been found to have a vicious, out–of-control temper, as is true of John McCain. Nor did he twice oppose President Bush’s tax cuts — a key ingredient in the current the economic recovery — as did McCain.

“He [McCain] would disagree about something and then explode,” said former Sen. Bob Smith, a fellow Republican who served with McCain on various committees. “[There were] incidents of irrational behavior. We’ve all had incidents where we have gotten angry, but I’ve never seen anyone act like that.”

Over the years, McCain has alternately denied being prone to angry outbursts, admitted he struggles to control his anger, and claimed he only becomes angry over waste and abuse. But those who have experienced it say his anger does not erupt over policy issues or waste and abuse. Rather, his outbursts come when peers disagree with McCain or tell him they won’t support him.

Distorted Image

What has changed since the Newsmax article appeared is that the public’s perception of Romney has been distorted by the lens of media coverage and televised debates that focus on the trivial and irrelevant.

In selecting the CEO of a company, no one would hold a debate among candidates for the job. Instead, a search committee would look at character, which is a compass to future behavior, and competence as measured by candidates’ track records.

The media coverage and debates have focused on anything but. Instead, they have focused on atmospherics, promises that may or may not be kept, who is ahead in the polls, and how well the candidates tell jokes and respond to questions from a snowman on YouTube.

Half the stories and references to Romney in the media refer to his religion, which is irrelevant to how he would perform as president. Some critics say that Romney is not a Christian — leaving Jews out in the cold — or that his Mormon beliefs mean he is gullible. If so, Christians and Jews must be equally gullible. After all, they believe that Moses parted the Red Sea, that Jesus paid taxes with coins from a fish's mouth, and that a drop of oil burned for eight days.

Interestingly, polls show that those most likely to say they would not vote for a Mormon as president are also most likely to describe themselves as liberals, who profess to be tolerant.

With the help of the media, opponents have managed to portray Romney as a flip-flopper. The fact is that while most of the candidates have changed position on some issues, Romney has made a clear change on only one issue. While he has always been personally pro-life, like Ronald Reagan, he is a convert to the pro-life position when it comes to public policy. But as governor, Romney took pro-life stands, vetoing bills that authorized embryo farming, therapeutic cloning, and access to emergency contraception without parental consent.

That track record is far more important than his endorsement of Roe v. Wade more than a decade ago during a debate with Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. In fact, even more than Reagan as governor of California, Romney’s actions as governor fit the conservative mold in the most liberal of liberal states.

While playing up the theology of Romney’s religion, the media have downplayed his record of success. Few stories mention that he is both a Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School graduate. Romney started Bain Capital, a venture capital firm, from almost nothing in 1984. In evaluating whether to invest in a company, Romney would conduct massive research and play devil’s advocate to flush out facts.

Relying on those techniques and data he developed about the true amount companies spend on office supplies, Romney decided to invest $600,000 in Staples before it opened its first store in Brighton, Mass. After the opening, he invested millions more.

“He made eight times his money in three years,” Tom Stemberg, founder of Staples, tells me.

Bain Capital now has assets of $40 billion, and Romney is worth close to $250 million. In addition, he established a trust valued at $100 million for his five sons.

Romney worked similar miracles when he took over the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, turning a $397 million budget shortfall into a $56 million profit. As Massachusetts governor, he turned a $3 billion deficit into a surplus without raising taxes. Along the way, Romney developed a health insurance plan designed to cover all Massachusetts residents. It’s now being copied by other states.

In training new agents, the FBI Academy at Quantico, Va., teaches that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Yet over and over, voters have ignored warning signs of poor character and have overlooked track records, only to regret it.

When he was a candidate for vice president, Richard Nixon became embroiled in an ethics issue when the New York Post revealed he had secretly accepted $18,000 from private contributors to defray his expenses. It should have come as no surprise that he would end up being driven from office by the scandal known as Watergate.

Given Bill Clinton’s flagrant, compulsive philandering while governor of Arkansas, it should have come as no surprise that he would turn out to be a spineless leader who was unwilling to deal effectively with al-Qaida but was willing to have sex with an intern in the Oval Office and to lie under oath.

When she was first lady, Hillary Clinton fired a White House usher because he returned a call from former first lady Barbara Bush seeking help with her laptop. After 9/11, she appeared on national TV and claimed that when the two airplanes hit the World Trade Center, her daughter Chelsea was going to jog at Battery Park near the towers, where she heard and saw the catastrophe unfold.

Clinton’s arrogance was so profound that she did not coordinate the story with Chelsea, who wrote an article for Talk in which she described where she was that day. According to Chelsea, she was on the other side of town in a friend’s apartment on Park Avenue South. She watched the events unfold on TV.

Only a fool would choose a friend, an electrician, a plumber, or an employee who displayed such nastiness and disregard for the truth. Yet Hillary Clinton is a serious contender for president.

True Conservative

In contrast, when told in July 1996 that the 14-year-old daughter of one of his partners had been missing in New York for three days, Romney closed down Bain Capital and asked its 30 partners and employees to fly to New York to try to find her. The girl had gone to a rave party and taken ecstasy.

“I don’t care how long it takes, we’re going to find her,” Romney told the girl’s father Robert Gay.

As a result of a massive campaign orchestrated by Romney, he was able to locate and rescue the girl when she was within a day of dying from the effects of an overdose.

If that episode — virtually ignored by the media — tells you a lot about the man and his character, so does his choice of a wife. In personality and intelligence, Ann Romney bears a striking resemblance to the widely admired subject of my book "Laura Bush: An Intimate Portrait of the First Lady."

Like Giuliani, Romney recognizes that no issue is more important than protecting the country and staying on the offense in the war on terror. But unlike Giuliani and the other leading Republican candidates, Romney’s record demonstrates that he is true to all three prongs of the conservative movement. Many conservatives don’t seem to get that. Instead, they keep looking for a new flavor of the month, only to be disappointed again and again when they learn more about their latest infatuation. Could Felons for Huckabee be next?

“One of the reasons I decided to endorse Romney is that I became convinced that he is the only candidate developing a credible ability to appeal to economic, social, and defense-oriented conservatives,” David Keene, president of the American Conservative Union, tells me.

Within the conservative movement, no one is more respected than Keene, who has headed the ACU since 1984. With one million members, the ACU runs the Conservative Political Action Committee’s (CPAC) annual conference in Washington and publishes an annual Rating of Congress — the gold standard for ideological assessments of members of Congress.

“Giuliani appeals to defense-oriented conservatives and can make a credible argument to some economic conservatives, but he can’t pass the giggle test with social conservatives — and doesn’t really try to do so,” says Keene. “Mike Huckabee appeals to social conservatives but has demonstrated virtually no appeal to those who focus on national defense and economic issues. Thompson may have had the potential to do what Romney is now doing, but hasn’t done so. John McCain is a hero to many national defense oriented conservatives, but he has little appeal in other quarters.”

Romney, on the other hand, has “developed into a candidate who has tried hard to appeal across these factions in the way Reagan did some decades ago,” Keene says. “Like all the others, he began with credibility issues, but as time has gone on, more and more conservatives are beginning to accept today’s Mitt Romney as the real deal rather than the caricature others are portraying.”

Reagan Candidate

That is why Romney has the support of conservatives as different as Robert Bork, Paul Weyrich, former Sen. Jim Talent, Michael Novak, and Kate O’Bierne and the editors of National Review, says Keene.

“This support will broaden and deepen as more and more members of the conservative coalition realize that Romney can hold the coalition together and advance their cause better than the other candidates,” predicts Keene.

The Newsmax cover story last April called Romney “The Reagan Candidate.”

That is as true today as it was then.

...and the more we learn about shariah, the more Islamism appears a marker of homicidal insanity...:

Pakistan clerics persecute 'non Muslims'
By Isambard Wilkinson in Rabwah
Last Updated: 11:22am GMT 25/12/2007

Hardline clerics are using Pakistan's blasphemy laws to persecute members of a small Islamic splinter group they say are not proper Muslims.

The two million-strong Ahmadiyya community, based in Rabwah in the Punjab, risks charges of "impersonating Muslims" under the country's controversial religious laws.

Shameen Ahmad Khalid, a community leader, said: "We have people serving long jail sentences for blasphemy or for 'posing as Muslims'."

The laws mandate three years' imprisonment for Ahmadis who dare to call themselves Muslims, call their places of worship mosques, recite the Koran or announce the azan, the call to prayer.

Twenty years ago, the people of Rabwah were charged with impersonating Muslims.

Since the charges are still outstanding, the town's 50,000 inhabitants have to hide their Islamic habits, keep their beards trimmed and avoid using Muslim invocations.

The word "Muslim" has been erased, on the orders of a magistrate, from an epitaph engraved on the tomb of Pakistan's most distinguished scientist, Dr Abdus Salam.

It used to read "the First Muslim Nobel Laureate".

The religious laws are used by hardline clerics to persecute minority groups.

Despite recent improvements in voting rights for Christians and Hindus, Ahmadis are effectively still disenfranchised as they are permitted to vote only as "non-Muslims".

Pakistani popular rhymes defame Ahmadis in lurid terms and militants have stamped thousands of rupee notes imploring believers to "put them to death".

Rabwah is surrounded by mosques whose clerics host prominent annual anti-Ahmadi rallies and bellow hateful slogans from their minarets' loudspeakers.

In 2005 gunmen burst into an Ahmadi village mosque at prayer time and killed eight people and wounded most of the 30-strong congregation.

Several months ago, a police officer killed Mohammed Ashraf, an Ahmadi, as he ate his breakfast in a hotel. As he opened fire the officer shouted: "You are an infidel and preaching the infidel creed."

The Ahmadis' reverence for a prophet who lived in the 19th century offends the principle orthodox Muslim tenet that the Prophet Mohammed was the final prophet.

Many Ahmadis crossed into Pakistan at Partition in 1947. But the Sunni mullahs turned against them and anti-Ahmadi riots broke out in 1953.

An amendment to Pakistan's constitution in 1974 declared Ahmadis as non-Muslims.>>

Quite easy to deduce right now--notice how these Baghdadi kids are FREELY SHOWING THEIR FACES as they man checkpoints, denounce AQ on TV, etc. This is new...AQ has obviously lost that bone-chilling primal terror amongst civilians that they have so carefully cultivated for years.

And terrorists, without terror, are just violent nuisances. Let the plague-rat drownings proceed...

Shades of Kruschchev denouncing Stalin at the 1956 Party Congress...I love the smell of ideological schism in the morning!

The Nobel Prize lads at MEMRI have translated excerpts from a new book
by "one of the least public yet most important figures in the global jihad movement," Sayyed Imam Al-Sharif. He is serving a life sentence in Egypt for his jihadi activities, and for years was Al-Qaeda's in-house shariah expert, recruited by little Haman Zwahiri himself. Acc. to MEMRI: "The new book, which Imam wrote while serving a life sentence in Egypt, was published in serial form in two Arab dailies, the Kuwaiti Al-Jarida and the Egyptian Al-Masri Al-Yawm, and has been the subject of extensive discussion and polemic among Islamists and observers of Islamist movements. The document is at once a book and a formal initiative, and the majority of leaders and members of the Jihad organization in the Egyptian prisons have signed the document and promised to stop armed activities. This entire process was facilitated by the Egyptian authorities, and the document was reviewed by a commission of Al-Azhar scholars."

Here are some devastating hits from Mr. Al-Sharif, which should come in quite handy when arguing with your local AQ-symps:

Q: "What is your evaluation of the events of September [11], 2001?"

A: "The events of September [11], 2001, were betrayal of a friend and perfidy toward the enemy on the part of Al-Qaeda, and they were a catastrophe for the Muslims. All of these are traits of hypocrisy, and cardinal sins whose perpetrators are considered iniquitous - and whoever approves of their action shares their sin.

"This was betrayal of a friend, because bin Laden took the oath of allegiance to Mullah Muhammad Omar, leader of the Taliban, [and recognized him] as Commander of the Faithful in the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. [Bin Laden] lived under his protection, and [Mullah] Muhammad Omar refused to hand over bin Laden to anyone.

"More than once [Mullah] Muhammad Omar ordered [bin Laden] not to clash with America, saying that he didn't have the capabilities for this, especially since Afghanistan and its people were the ones who paid the price for bin Laden's bombings in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam in 1998.

"Bin Laden and his followers lied to their Emir [Mullah] Muhammad Omar, betrayed him, violated [their] oath of allegiance to him, and carried out the events of 9/11 behind his back after having plotted them for more than two years in his country, Afghanistan, after Khalid Sheikh [Muhammad] suggested the idea to bin Laden. The Prophet said, 'Whoever defies [a ruler] has no excuse when he meets Allah'…"

"This was perfidy towards the enemy, because they entered America with a visa, which is a contract of protection. There is no dispute about this among the scholars - even… [if someone] forges the signature of the residents of [the Abode of] War, and they believe it to be authentic, and then he enters their land, he is forbidden to betray them in anything - their lives, their honor, their property, without any distinction between combatants (military) and non-combatants (civilians) among the residents of [the Abode of] War, as long as he remains in their country…

"The followers of bin Laden entered America with his knowledge and by his order, and they acted perfidiously towards its people, and killed and destroyed… Then they called their treachery and their perfidy a 'raid' in order to compare their actions to the Prophet's raids. To tie their perfidy and treachery to the Prophet is to diminish him and to mock him, and the punishment for diminishing the worth of the Prophet is well-known to Muslims; Qadi 'Iyyad mentioned it in Al-Shifa, and Ibn Taymiyya in Al-Sarim Al-Maslul."

Q: "What was the extent of the impact of these events on the situation of Muslims in the world?"
A: "It was a catastrophe for the Muslims. [Al-Qaeda] ignited strife that found its way into every home, and they were the cause of the imprisonment of thousands of Muslims in the prisons of various countries. They caused the death of tens of thousands of Muslims - Arabs, Afghans, Pakistanis, and others. The Taliban's Islamic Emirate was destroyed, and Al-Qaeda was destroyed. They were the direct cause of the American occupation of Afghanistan and other heavy losses which there is not enough time to mention here. They bear the responsibility for all of this."

Q: "What is your opinion on the way in which bin Laden and Al-Zawahiri have managed the war against the Americans?"

A: "Bin Laden, Al-Zawahiri, and others fled at the beginning of the American bombing [in Afghanistan], to the point of abandoning their wives and families to be killed along with other innocent people.

"I think that a shari'a court should be established, composed of reliable scholars, to hold these people accountable for their crimes - even if in absentia - so that those who are ignorant in their religion do not repeat this futility.

"The Taliban used to punish a woman who left her house with her face uncovered - so how could the leaders of Al-Qaeda not be held accountable - they who caused the destruction of their country, the spilling of their blood, the destruction of their houses, whose children were orphaned and wives widowed - all of this in disobedience to their Emir?..."

"The issue of my joining their group remained conditional on my meeting their sheikhs. I only discovered after the Jihad case of 1981 that Ayman was a charlatan who used secrecy as a pretext. I discovered that he himself was the Emir of this group, and that they didn't have any sheikhs, and that he was the cause of his companions' arrest, and that he testified against them."

"After I arrived in Yemen and was practicing medicine, I learned from one of the brothers that the Jihad group had altered my book Al-Jami', struck things out of it, and changed the name of the book to Al-Hadi ila Sabil Al-Rashad. They [also] said that their Shari'a Council had confirmed it [to be correct].

"I asked the brother who had typed the book into the computer and had arrived in Yemen to work, and he informed me that Al-Zawahiri and he alone was the one who did all of these perversions [to the book], because he had found in the book criticism of the Islamist movements that I had written [based on] the reality of having lived with them.

"I don't know of anyone in Islamic history having committed such deceit, fraud, falsification, and betrayal of trust with such hostility to someone else's book, and perverted it - no one before Ayman Al-Zawahiri. When one of the righteous forefathers saw something he considered an error in someone else's book, he would write a rebuttal…

"Aggression towards someone else's book, and the perversion of it, like Al-Zawahiri did, is something that is done only by bandits and people who have no morals and no character. I wrote a communiqué deploring what he had done.

"Neither Al-Zawahiri nor his Shari'a Council have the competence to examine or correct books on shari'a - even with the permission of the author - and they don't have anyone capable of writing a single page without an error in jurisprudence…"

A: "The dispute is objective. Ayman Al-Zawahiri was entirely dependent on me, in matters of instruction, professional matters, shari'a matters, and at times [even] personal matters.

"He had a contract to work as a surgeon with the Kuwaiti [Red] Crescent Hospital in Peshawar in 1986. He had never been trained in surgery, and had never done a surgery internship in any hospital. He had received a theoretical MA in surgery by studying what I had written, and he had worked a bit in Saudi Arabia as a general physician, and when he enlisted he worked in anesthesia.

"When he got the job at the Kuwaiti [Red] Crescent Hospital he asked me to be at his side and teach him [how to perform] operations. I taught him until he started to stand on his own two feet. If I hadn't done this, he would have been exposed [as a disgrace], since he had taken a contract for a profession that he had never practiced."

"[Al-Zawahiri] was in love with the media and visibility. I wrote works on shari'a and pamphlets, and he would put his name on them, so that I would give him a push [in the realms of] shari'a and the media.

"Al-Zawahiri dealt ungraciously with all of this. He was ungrateful for the kindness [I had shown him] and did not thank [me] for it. He bit the hand that I had extended to him in kindness. [This was] deceit, fraud, betrayal of trust, falsehood, and gangsterism.

"This nature remained in him, up to the point where he and his companions in Al-Qaeda bit the hand of Mullah Muhammad Omar, who had hosted them and protected them in Afghanistan, and who ordered them not to enter into a confrontation with America…

"This is part of the truth about Ayman Al-Zawahiri and his Emir, bin Laden - without falsification and without the media deceit that their followers shower on the two of them. [They are] extremely immoral. I have spoken about this in order to warn the youth against them - youth who are seduced by them, and don't know them..."

"Some of his followers demanded that Al-Qaeda should have a program (a constitution) that would define the principles of its existence and its goals, and on the basis of which bin Laden would receive the oath of allegiance from the youth.

"bin Laden refused to be bound by any program, in order to give himself the freedom to behave with his followers however he wanted. He banished those who had demanded a program, and from that time on, unfortunately, the only people who have followed Bin Laden have been one of two [kinds of] people: people who are ignorant in their religion, or people who seek gain in this world."

Piper Laurie in "Carrie"

Thirty years ago, this psychotic murderous parent was so off-the-charts loony that she was an exceptionally horrific character in one of the scariest horror movies EVER...Today she is replicated IN REAL LIFE BY THE THOUSANDS in our own neighborhoods in Michigan, New Jersey, Canada, London...anywhere. Maybe 2 houses down from me, or you.

Thousands of parents ready, willing and able to heartlessly murder their own daughters because they won't dress "modestly...As Allah has commanded!" God save us.

"We've come a long way, baby! Thanks, Islamists!"

Just beautiful words from my Bay State blood-brother Yaacov ben Moshe at Breath of the Beast...We need to place these words on frontlets before our eyes these days:

I am one Jew who is all for the kind of spirit and strength of character that gets expressed at this time of year by wishing each other “Merry Christmas”. I’ll certainly take it over Allah HuAkbar. Give me Peace on Earth” and “Good Will Toward Men” over “Eternal Jihad” and “Dhimmi Status for Infidels” anytime.

If we do anything this holiday season, we need to loosen up and get a perspective on this “Merry Christmas” thing. It is not the people who say “Merry Christmas” and mean it that we need to be discouraging in America at this time. It is the people who find something wrong and suspect in the energy, enthusiasm and good-will that animates that “Merry Christmas” that we need to discourage.

Amen to that, brother Yaacov!

Nothing exemplifies "Islamist honor" better than kidnapping a lady and her six-year old child and CUTTING THEIR HEADS OFF because she didn't wear a headscarf...Or was it for wearing too much makeup? Such is the courage of the jihadi:

Vigilantes kill 40 women in Iraq's south.
By SINAN SALAHEDDIN, Associated Press Writer
Sun Dec 9, 6:14 PM ET

Religious vigilantes have killed at least 40 women this year in the southern Iraqi city of Basra because of how they dressed, their mutilated bodies found with notes warning against "violating Islamic teachings," the police chief said Sunday.

Maj. Gen. Jalil Khalaf blamed sectarian groups that he said were trying to impose a strict interpretation of Islam. They dispatch patrols of motorbikes or unlicensed cars with tinted windows to accost women not wearing traditional dress and head scarves, he added.

"The women of Basra are being horrifically murdered and then dumped in the garbage with notes saying they were killed for un-Islamic behavior," Khalaf told The Associated Press. He said men with Western clothes or haircuts are also attacked in Basra, an oil-rich city some 30 miles from the Iranian border and 340 miles southeast of Baghdad.

"Those who are behind these atrocities are organized gangs who work under cover of religion, pretending to spread the instructions of Islam, but they are far from this religion," Khalaf said.

Throughout Iraq, many women wear a headscarf and others wear a full face veil although secular women are often unveiled. Since the overthrow of Saddam Hussein and the rise of a Shiite-dominated government, armed men in some parts of the country have sometimes forced women to cover their heads or face punishment. In some areas of the heavily Shiite south, even Christian women have been forced to wear headscarves.

Before the U.S.-led invasion in 2003, Basra, Iraq's second-largest city, was known for its mixed population and night life. Now, in some areas, red graffiti threatens any woman who wears makeup and appears with her hair uncovered: "Your makeup and your decision to forgo the headscarf will bring you death."

Khalaf said bodies have been found in garbage dumps with bullet holes, decapitated or otherwise mutilated with a sheet of paper nearby saying, "she was killed for adultery," or "she was killed for violating Islamic teachings." In September, the headless bodies of a woman and her 6-year-old son were among those found, he said. A total of 40 deaths were reported this year.

"We believe the number of murdered women is much higher, as cases go unreported by their families who fear reprisal from extremists," he said.

And check out this lovely item from the Future Shariah-Land of the UK, too.

Oh, brother. This was where Bush really fell down post-9/11--allowing the enemy contamination of our national security agencies to spread. These mole-riddled buildings need an exorcism, not a purge. They are working for the enemy [e.g., the Plames, the latest NIE], and our tax dollars are paying their salaries, and pensions.

Pardon me while I go out back to puke my guts out:

Violated FBI files named snitches
December 6, 2007

An illegal immigrant who parlayed a sham marriage into citizenship and key jobs at the FBI and CIA made five unauthorized inquiries into an FBI computer system to find out about investigations of Hizballah, a federal prosecutor said in court papers filed Wednesday in Detroit.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth Chadwell didn't indicate why Nada Nadim Prouty, a Lebanese immigrant who once lived in Taylor, wanted the information or what she did with it. But he said four of the inquiries involved files containing the names of confidential FBI informants.

In another development, a federal official familiar with the case said the CIA had access to derogatory information about Prouty before the FBI hired her in 1999, but failed to disclose it when the FBI contacted the CIA during a background check.
Had the information been disclosed, the official said, the FBI might not have hired her. More perplexing, the official said, is why the CIA hired Prouty away from the FBI.

The CIA declined comment.

The court papers filed Wednesday said Prouty made at least one unauthorized inquiry to find out whether one of the investigations of Hizballah involved her brother-in-law, fugitive La Shish restaurant owner Talal Chahine. Prosecutors have said Chahine is a supporter of Hizballah, which the U.S. government has designated as a terrorist group.

The latest details about Prouty's unauthorized computer inquiries were laid out in an indictment of Chahine.

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, a Brighton Republican and ex-FBI agent who serves on the House Intelligence Committee, said the Prouty episode is alarming. She pleaded guilty in the case last month in Detroit.

"I think this is a very serious security breach," Rogers said Wednesday, adding that the House Intelligence Committee has started looking into the case and hopes to conduct hearings in late January.

Michael Cutler, a former federal immigration agent from Brooklyn, N.Y., who has testified before Congress on immigration and terrorism issues, called it "a very disturbing picture. ... My concern is what she did with the information and what happened to the confidential sources."

Watch both these vids, and feel ten feet tall. Listen carefully to the lyrics of the second one, and it will be clear why I combined them. By the rivers of Babylon?...Hell, yeeaahh!

These dark days we can all use a little video pick-me-up.

And remember, the guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.

Heroes' Hanukkah in Baghdad:

Psalm 137:

As documented by....heheheheh...MEMRI:

Following is an excerpt from an interview with Lebanese writer Jihad Al-Khazen, which aired on ANB TV on November 17, 2007:

Jihad Al-Khazen: The MEMRI translation agency [produces] accurate and correct translations. They don't invent anything, but, of course, they are selective. Sometimes I don't understand where they get all their sources. If an imam in a small mosque in some village in the "Empty Quarter" of the Arabian Peninsula says anything against the Jews, they translate it and place it on the desks of 435 congressmen and 100 senators. They have extraordinary monitoring capabilities

Do yourself a favor and donate a few bucks to MEMRI, which should win the Nobel Prize for Peace every single year...They have done a thousand times more good by shining the light of truth on the sick, sick, SICK jihadist mentality running amok in the Muslim lands than all of the pathetic slobs in the MSM put together...As you can see, even their/our enemies admit their effectiveness!!

Gotta love that Shariah...Liquidated because of something you didn't do when you were 13 years old, 8 years after you didn't do it, and at your trial, all the witnesses say you didn't do it.

Islamist justice.

[click on picture for horrific details]

I've always been struck by this famous painting by Breugel the Elder...These days when I look at it, I think: If we put long robes on the skeletons, the painting really could be named "Triumph of Shariah," instead of Triumph of Death.

Of course, more and more they are the same thing...

Iran: Young Man Executed for Alleged Sex Crime
Date: December 5, 2007 Middle East » Iran » Press Release

(New York, Wednesday December 5, 2007) - The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) has learned today that despite an order by the Iranian Chief Justice to nullify his death sentence, Mr. Makvan Mouloodzadeh was executed in Kermanshah Central Prison at 5 a.m. this morning, Iranian time. Neither Mr. Mouloodzadeh's family or his lawyer were told about the execution until after it occurred. IGLHRC is still investigating the facts in this case.

"This is a shameful and outrageous travesty of justice and international human rights law," said Paula Ettelbrick, IGLHRC's executive director. "How many more young Iranians have to die before the international community takes action?"

Mr. Mouloodzadeh was a 21-year-old Iranian citizen who was accused of committing anal rape (ighab) with other young boys when he was 13 years old. However, at Mr. Mouloodzadeh's trial, all the witnesses retracted their pre-trial testimonies, claiming to have lied to the authorities under duress. Makvan also told the court that his confession was made under coercion and pleaded not guilty.

[Who, amazingly, has even more brains than she has beauty!]

I've called The Jerusalem Post's Caroline Glick the Jeanne d'Arc of Israel...But the great Pamela Geller, creator of the "AtlasShrugs" blog, perhaps merits the "Jeanne d'Arc of America" title even better. Every day she publishes brilliant, passionate essays and links, but today's about the Annapolis conference and its meaning was exceptional even for her:
Submitting to Saudi demands, the Americans prohibited Israeli representatives from entering the hall through the same door as the Arabs. VILE, all of it. Sanctioned and insitutionalized by the President of the United States. I thought Bush was a Christian, A man of faith? Shocking. He has squandered his second term and has not acted in good faith. We did not elect him to carry Condi's water.

It is unfathomable to consider this with any other race, creed or color. Imagine separate entrances for the leader of an African nation because a "white" leader refused to walk through the same door as the black man? Because it would be unclean.

And Israel took it like the ghetto Jew. They should have walked out like any self respecting human would have done. But no, they lowered the bar yet again. Offering all, and getting nothing. Sheba Farms, Golan, Jerusalem - all of it in play. The post Oslo Jew has returned to the pre- Holocaust mentality of the 'ghetto' Jew. The Jew that doesn't want to be noticed, the Jew who will do anything to appease those that hate us, just to live in peace. Instead of asserting OUR rights, OUR will that we have a right, are the rightful heirs of Israel and Jerusalem, we are acting as if we have no rights and instead are begging, begging, our enemies to recognize us and accept us!" Behaving like beggars! And the silence of American Jews, well it's the ghetto mentality mixed with those that have assimilated into American culture, the let's not rock the boat crowd.

If I may be so bold to second that emotion, from my own essay:

Until about 100 years ago, almost all the Jews in the world lived in some form of the shtetl, or Jewish quarter, as they had for generations uncounted. As we all know, in the modern era of citizenship and human rights this undignified existence was rightly condemned as obsolete. But it is almost as if Jews haven't internalized that, indeed, the shtetl is gone. The Czar/Sultan will not protect us. And we fully have it in our capability to protect ourselves.

Sit back and watch this gruesome and hilarious pulverization of a cartoonishly psychotic Arab fascist, Ibrahim Al-'Aloush, by a modestly well-informed Kurdish writer, Shirzad Adel Al-Yazidi. On Al-Jazeera, no less. Not even the preposterously one-sided "moderator" could salvage Mr. Aloush's dignity.

Those boys at MEMRI do great work. ENJOY!

I recently noticed some notorious Jooooo-haters on the Net spreading an apparently accurate, but very inflammatory story: that religious Jews in Jerusalem have been spitting in the faces of inoffensive Christian clergy as a gesture of contempt and insult. The story is being spread as a "news" article from Israel's notoriously anti-religious Haaretz newspaper.

At least 2 supposedly "repectable" blogs have published this "news" story, including:

These blogs, and any other sites not devoted to Jooooo-hating, would be well-advised to carefully check their "news" sources. As you can clearly read here, this story was reported (and last updated)by Haaretz on December 10, 2004...NEARLY THREE YEARS AGO.

Hardly "breaking news," Christian or otherwise.

It should also be noted that, even the Jewish offenders in these instances are criminally prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

The brilliant Bill Roggio reports:

"Pakistani army advances in Swat"--
"The military plan calls for moving troops into the mountains and hilltops. Once secured, the military is relying on air power and artillery barrages in populated areas of the settled district."

OK, let's get this straight...The MILITARY PLAN of the world's 2d most populous Muslim state is to DELIBERATELY TARGET "populated areas" with "air power and artillery barrages."...No worries about "hearts and minds" here!!

And we can confidently assume that the air/artilery precision of the Pakistani military is not quite on par with our own, or Israel's...esp. in the craggy mountains and ravines of the Swat valley.

Yet somehow I doubt the United Nations will find anything objectionable in this plan...

"What, me worry about collateral damage? Hell, no, that foolish principle is for weak wimpy kuffars..."

הִנֵּה לֹא יָנוּם וְלֹא יִישָׁן שׁוֹמֵר יִשְׂרָאֵל

"Behold, the guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps."--Psalms, 121:4

Acc. to the fabulous Caroline Glick, the Jean d'Arc of Israel:

"In essence, what we see in Olmert's and Livni's machinations is a repeat of Ariel Sharon's and Livni's political maneuvering in the period that preceded the withdrawal from Gaza. In both cases, Israel's senior leaders abide by the basic political understanding that a fight postponed is a fight won.
Today, by pretending that the joint declaration at Annapolis was a big nothing, Olmert and Livni are repeating the maneuver. By the time they start throwing Jews out of their homes, they won't need Shas or Yisrael Beiteinu anymore.

Lieberman and Yishai are under no obligation to leave the government. They can stay for as long as they like. But they cannot pretend that by staying they are not full partners in the government's policies. As Annapolis made clear, those policies include dividing Jerusalem, destroying the Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria and compromising the security of the State of Israel."

Believe it.

Why would Israel deliberately or callously harm innocent Arabs when they take such pains to carefully capture unharmed those armed-to-the-teeth Arabs who are on their way to kill them? Does that even make any sense?
Youths with bombs stopped at Hawarah
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Staff , THE JERUSALEM POST Nov. 30, 2007

Two Palestinian youths were arrested at the Hawarah checkpoint south of Nablus on Friday after troops on duty discovered they were carrying three bombs.

A Border Police sapper detonated the explosives without incident, and the youths were detained for interrogation.

Teacher. Kids. Teddy bear. Homework. Pretty cute, right?

Well, just add in a dose of Shariah and a pinch of Koran, and it all equals...MOBS. THREATS. LASHING. JAIL. AN INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT. [Sigh...]

We need to start seeing the lands under the Shariah as in fact inherently lawless, pirate/bandit-dominated zones, or zones wherein crimes against humanity are legitimized, and act accordingly. How do our forces respond to pirates?

Protestors: Teddy bear teacher must die
Sudan rallies begin after Friday prayers
Associated PressKHARTOUM, Sudan – Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of insulting Islam for allowing her students to name a teddy bear “Muhammad.”

The protesters streamed out of mosques after Friday sermons, as pickup trucks with loudspeakers blared messages against Gillian Gibbons, the teacher who was sentenced Thursday to 15 days in prison and deportation. She avoided the more serious punishment of 40 lashes.

They massed in central Martyrs Square, outside the presidential palace, where hundreds of riot police were deployed. They did not attempt to stop the rally.

“Shame, shame on the U.K.,” protesters chanted.

They called for Gibbons’ execution, saying, “No tolerance: Execution,” and “Kill her, kill her by firing squad.”

The women’s prison where Gibbons is being held is far from the site. Unity High School, which is closer by in central Khartoum, is under heavy security protection.

The protest arose despite vows by Sudanese security officials the day before, during Gibbons’ trial, that threatened demonstrations after Friday prayers would not take place. Some of the protesters carried green banners with the name of the Society for Support of the Prophet Muhammad, a previously unknown group.

Many protesters carried clubs, knives and axes – but not automatic weapons, which some have brandished at past government-condoned demonstrations. That suggested Friday’s rally was not organized by the government.

A Muslim cleric at Khartoum’s main Martyrs Mosque denounced Gibbons during one sermon, saying she intentionally insulted Islam. He did not call for protests, however.

“Imprisoning this lady does not satisfy the thirst of Muslims in Sudan. But we welcome imprisonment and expulsion,” the cleric, Abdul-Jalil Nazeer al-Karouri, a well-known hard-liner, told worshippers.

“This is an arrogant woman who came to our country, cashing her salary in dollars, teaching our children hatred of our Prophet Muhammad,” he said.

Gotcher insult to yer "prophet" [cbuh] right here:

Re: Official Response to a recent advertisement for the movie

Throughout our country, we have witnessed a rise in offensive behavior and actions taken against others, which has created greater divisiveness and misunderstandings among the various ethnic groups residing in our communities. One of these events occurred on our campus recently with the promotion of an event.

Advertisements for the movie "Obsession" sponsored by several student organizations appeared during the past several weeks on campus bulletin boards and they illustrate the importance of balancing freedom of speech with responsibility.

The ads, which promoted a showing of the movie on Nov. 13 and a panel discussion afterward, entitled "Radical Islam Wants You Dead," offended many Muslim students on campus. Regardless of its original intent, the language reinforced a negative stereotype, created unnecessary divisiveness and contributed to a generalization that only furthers the misunderstanding of the religion of Islam.

We cannot speak of rights without also addressing the responsibility associated with our actions or statements, including understanding the potential consequences. One of our roles as a learning institution is to teach our students to express themselves freely, and also in a fair and conscientious manner. In an academic setting, differences of opinions are strongly encouraged, yet such opinions must be based on accurate information when describing other members of the community.

Unfortunately, in the case of the "Obsession" ads, that did not happen. I believe the groups that posted them owe the campus, and particularly campus members of the Islamic faith, an apology and a clarification.

At the University of Florida we have embraced a set of values, one of which is diversity. Diversity is not just about having representation from various cultures on campus, it also is having each member contribute to an inclusive and safe environment and collectively enhancing our understanding and appreciation of the richness brought by such differences. The University of Florida is committed to being an institution of excellence, where all members are valued and feel safe on our campus. Our role as an institution is to create opportunities for students to learn in an open and accepting environment; one that emphasizes respect for all. Let's remember that part of our mission is to prepare each other to be effective members of a global community. With that in mind, I encourage each member of our campus community as a start to learn more about the religion of Islam and some of its tenets of peace, hard work, charity and compassion.

There is little room for divisiveness in our world if we are to find peace and understanding among us. We all can win if we focus on greater inclusion and understanding as well as the delicate balance between our rights and responsibilities.

[BTW, you can read the little leftist UF morons cheering on the "doctor" here. ]

With all due respect to the fine troops of UK, Israel, and Australia...THE US HAS THE GREATEST SOLDIERS ON EARTH!! 13 RABID AQ JACKALS CAUGHT WITHOUT A SHOT BEING FIRED!! AT NIGHT!

FORWARD OPERATING BASE HAMMER — Soldiers from Company B, 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, captured 13 suspected insurgents during a nighttime air assault mission in Sayafiyah, a small village outside of Salman Pak, Nov. 24.
One of the detainees was a high value individual (HVI), who was a member of al-Qaida in Iraq wanted for weapons smuggling and financing attacks on Coalition forces in Salman Pak and Al Ja’ara.

“According to our intelligence, the insurgent we apprehended was an expert bomb maker and VBID (vehicle borne improvised explosive device) maker,” said 1st Lt. Matthew Barwick, from Lanham, Md., fire support officer for Co. B. “By apprehending him, we have taken a very dangerous person off the streets and made the area safer.”

During the course of the operation Co. B Soldiers cleared eight houses and barns while searching for the suspects.

“The operation went perfectly,” said Spc. Lyle Johnson, from Comanche, Okla., an indirect fire specialist in Co. B. “We cleared all of our objectives and got the No. 1 HVI and 12 of his partners. We did all of this without firing a shot, so I’d say it was a good operation.”

We can only imagine what is wired into the wedding bouquet thrown by the "bride."

We can all get a good laugh over this video (esp when we imagine the treatment of these Islamist degenerates inside an Iraqi prison), but we should also keep this incident in mind every time we hear the fellow-travelers and Congressional traitors condemn the "insensitivity and brutality" of our troops at checkpoints...

"Member from almahdi gang wants to escape - Post Media Reply Marked as: Mature, Featured
November 26, 2007 -- A newlywed couple was ordered out of their car at a Baghdad checkpoint only for suspicious Iraqi guards to discover the blushing bride was really a man, reported.

The "bride," "groom" and two other passengers in the car were actually wanted militants trying to sneak past security in disguise, the Iraqi defense ministry said in a statement.

"Iraqi soldiers set up a checkpoint near Taji (25 miles from Baghdad) and during their duty they stopped a wedding procession," the statement said.

"The soldiers became suspicious because the procession did not follow orders to stop. The occupants of the car were told to step out of the car and were searched. Four people in the procession were found to be wanted terrorists and arrested."

The defence ministry released pictures of the "bridal couple."

"She" was identified as Haider Mu'alla, looking more like an embarrassed bride than a blushing one, dressed in a white ill-fitting wedding dress."

New boss turns the tables on Al Qaeda; Ex-Sunni insurgent becomes U.S. ally

By Liz Sly, Tribune foreign correspondent; Nadeem Majeed contributed to this report

November 22, 2007--BAGHDAD

The once-dreaded Al Qaeda in Iraq stronghold of Amariyah has a new boss, and he's not shy about telling the story of the shootout that turned him into a local legend and helped change the tenor of the Iraq war.

Earlier this year, Abul Abed, a disgruntled Sunni insurgent leader, began secret talks with the Americans about ending Al Qaeda's reign of terror in this run-down, formerly middle-class Baghdad neighborhood, renowned as one of the city's most dangerous. He had been gathering intelligence on the group for months.

One day in late May, he said, he decided it was time to act.

He hailed the car carrying the feared leader of Al Qaeda in the neighborhood, a man known as the White Lion, on one of Amariyah's main streets. "We want you to stop destroying our neighborhood," he told the man.

"Do you know who you are talking to?" said the White Lion, getting out of his car. "I am Al Qaeda. I will destroy even your own houses!"

He pulled out his pistol and shot at Abul Abed. The gun jammed. He reloaded and fired again. Again, the gun jammed.

By this time, Abul Abed said, he had pulled his own gun. He fired once, killing the White Lion.

"I walked over to him, stepped on his hand and took his gun," Abul Abed, which is a nom de guerre, said at his new, pink-painted headquarters in a renovated school in Amariyah, as an American Army captain seated in the corner nodded his head in affirmation of the account. "And then the fight started."

It was the beginning of the end for Al Qaeda in Amariyah. The next day, a firefight erupted. Al Qaeda fighters closed in on Abul Abed. Most of the 150 men who had joined him fled. Holed up in a mosque with fewer than a dozen supporters, Abul Abed thought the end was near.

"The blue carpet was soaked red with blood," he recalled. Then the imam of the mosque called in American help.

A friendship was born.

...He acknowledged that many of his men once fought Americans and now work closely with them.

"They recognize that they made a big mistake," he said. "They realize that they were on the wrong path and that they wasted many chances with what they did."

He must be removed by any means necessary.

Well, at least there's some hatikvah these days...:

More than 100 police investigators raided government buildings and private offices Sunday, searching for evidence in a series of criminal investigations of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

The probes — all related to actions that took place before Olmert became prime minister — have threatened to weaken the Israeli leader at a time of growing momentum in peace efforts with the Palestinians.

The early-morning raid targeted more than 20 locations, including the Industry and Trade Ministry, the Postal Authority and Jerusalem's City Hall, said police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld.

"Police investigators are searching a number of government and private offices in connection with three ongoing investigations" into Olmert, Rosenfeld said.

Investigators were still collecting evidence on Sunday afternoon, and the search was expected to possibly continue into early evening, he said.

He said authorities were expected to confiscate documents and other materials. He gave no further details.

With these Satan-worshippers, doesn't it always come back to the head-chopping?

More evidence that our international vermin-eradication project still has a long way to go. From a very moderate jihadi website:

"Choose a city or an area under [their] control that you are able to enter and in which you can gather your forces – such as Abu Ghuraib, the northern or southern parts of Baghdad, or parts of Diyala. Gather a sufficient number of Allah's mujahideen [in this area], and deal a lightening blow to the apostate Sahwa by killing as many of [of its members] as you can. [Also,] take as many hostages as possible, especially from among their leaders... Make them confess to being American agents... Cut off their heads in the most ruthless manner and hang up their bodies. Take pictures of all this and publicize them for all to see. Burn their houses and their fields..."

For the full pathetic call, go here.

The Guns of Fatah
13 Kislev 5768, 23 November 07 05:25by Hana Levi Julian(

Israel and Russia are joining forces to supply the Fatah-controlled Palestinian Authority with hundreds of guns, millions of bullets and 50 armored vehicles.

The gift was approved by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to round out the latest package of "goodwill gestures" designed to encourage and strengthen PA Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) before next week's Middle East summit in Annapolis.

Sources in the IDF and the General Security Services (Shabak) opposed the “gesture,” calling it dangerous. Security officials expressed concern that the vehicles could end up in the hands of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, or other terrorist groups that do not see themselves as bound by the deals between Israel and the Fatah-led PA. Exactly that happened in June when Hamas conquered Gaza from Fatah; Hamas terrorists took control of large quantities of weapons and US-bought military vehicles that had originally been supplied to local PA Fatah forces there in Gaza.

The new contingent of armored military vehicles is to be stationed in Shechem, the Biblical city today often referred to as the "terrorist capital of Judea and Samaria."

The Olmert government will donate a thousand guns and two million bullets to PA forces in a re-enactment of numerous similar gifts bestowed upon the Abbas government over the past 18 months.

Thousands of weapons and other materiel were shipped to the PA militia from U.S.-allies Egypt and Jordan earlier in the year, with the full knowledge and approval of the Olmert government. Most were confiscated by Hamas terrorists during skirmishes with Fatah over the year. Hamas took the rest five months ago when it routed the Gaza division of Abbas's personal guard, Force 17.

At that time, Al Aqsa Television broadcast footage of Hamas terrorists brandishing American assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), rocket launchers and ammunition, as they rode in and on 10 U.S.-supplied armored personnel carriers (APCs).

On December 22, 2006 Israel agreed to allow a shipment from Egypt of 2,000 Kalachnikov rifles, 20,000 magazines to feed bullets to the Kalachnikovs, and 2 million bullets to Abbas's Force 17.

In June 2006, the Olmert administration allowed 3,000 U.S.-manufactured M-16 automatic weapons and one million rounds of ammunition to be shipped to Abbas's militia. "I did this because we are running out of time and we need to help Abu Mazen," Olmert told reporters at the time.

Several of the weapons were used by terrorists shortly thereafter to murder one Israeli and wound several others in an attack on June 23, 2006, according to WorldNet Daily investigative reporter Aaron Klein.

The same day, the Hamas movement demanded a probe into another shipment of 1,000 semi-automatic rifles which Israel transferred to Abbas's forces after receiving them from Jordan.

A report by the WorldNetDaily news site contended that not only did Force 17 receive the weapons, but they had also already been used in terrorist attacks against Israel.

Two days later, IDF Cpl. Gilad Shalit was captured by Hamas terrorists in a cross-border raid from Gaza. He has not been seen since.

YouTube Islamist arrested for threats to Christian political leader
Posted: Saturday, November 17, 2007, 10:01 (GMT)

A man who placed an "obituary" on YouTube of one of the leading opponents of plans to build Europe's biggest mosque near the London Olympics site has been arrested by police.

The video, "In memory of Councillor Alan Craig", features the Leader of the Christian Peoples Alliance party, his wife and two daughters.

The two-minute video, which has now be taken down, was added by a man calling himself "abdullah1425" and was set to the strains of Elvis Presley's song Always On My Mind and opened with its title and the words 'To God we will all return'.

It featured a boxing scene with an Asian punching an opponent to the ground before ending with the message: "The mosque will be built in time for the 2012 Olympic Games."

When the video was uploaded to Youtube, there was a web link from the Abbey Mills mega-mosque website to abdullah1425's YouTube mini website, where he identifies himself as Muhammad, 23, from Stevenage, Herts. It also had links to material relating to Tablighi Jamaat.

In one comment to another user posted on the site he said: "Jihad starts from the moment your mother gave birth to you." Police have taken a statement about the video from Cllr Craig. The man behind the posting has now been bailed to return to a police station in Hertfordshire.

Commenting, Cllr Craig said: "This incident now seems over. I will not be intimidated by threats of any kind as important issues about this mosque have to be addressed in an open and fair fashion. This whole episode has exposed the reality that some Muslims accustomed to using either violence, intimidation, or the threat of violence are linked to the idea of this mosque.

"I cannot say it often enough: the proposed mosque will be bad for London, bad for the community and an invitation for the propagation of separatist and fundamentalist Islamic ideas. Up to now, Mayor Ken Livingstone and the Labour establishment have turned a blind eye to the real nature of the organisation behind the mega-mosque. I hope they will look more seriously at them now."

Mr Craig represents Canning Town South ward in Newham borough, where he has the support of many Muslim residents in the area in his opposition to plans for the "mega-mosque" at Abbey Mills, near West Ham tube station, which will have a 12,000 capacity.

It is being proposed by the controversial Islamist group Tablighi Jamaat, whose previous adherents include Glasgow airport bomber Kafeel Ahmed, shoe bomber Richard Reid and the July 7 bombers Mohammad Sidique Khan and Shehzad Tanweer.

The Christian Peoples Alliance is Britain's first political party of Christian Democrat inspiration and carries the support of sister parties across the European Union. With three councillors in London, the party has run twice for the Greater London Authority, in 2000 and 2004, winning votes both times from 100,000 people in the capital.

As well as backing from cross-denominational church leaders, the CPA carried support from leading members of other faiths and business figures. It has its annual conference today, Saturday 17 November, in central London.

More good news (which to the MSM means, "NON-NEWS") from Iraq. Have you heard about these vivid, telegenic stories in the MSM? OF COURSE NOT.

And we all know why...:

Iraqi Christians Return to Worship in St. John’s Church
Saturday, 17 November 2007
By Cpl. Ben Washburn
1st Infantry Division Public Affairs

BAGHDAD — Nov. 15 marked an important day for the residents of the Doura neighborhood, as Iraqi Christians returned to conduct worship services at St. John’s Church.

Bishop Schlemon Warduni, Auxiliary Bishop of the Chaldean Church, came to St. John’s, in the heart of a southern Baghdad neighborhood where violence had been the worst and al-Qaida in Iraq (AQI) most strongly entrenched, to give the first mass since May 5.

With Christians, Muslims, and Iraqi security and Coalition forces on hand, Bishop Warduni delivered a mass praying for peace and unity for all of Iraq. The Christians in the congregation took communion to conclude the service, culminating a day more than six months in the making.

“This service is a reflection of the current security situation in Doura,” said Harker Heights, Texas, native Col. Ricky D. Gibbs, commander of the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. “Only a few weeks ago AQI had the Iraqi populace in the grip of terror but they’ve been pushed out and the people have returned to worship.”

Tired that their Christian friends had been forced out by AQI, Muslim leaders sought a way to bring these families back into the community. Lt. Col. Stephen Michael, the commander of the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, said the Muslim community played a significant role in the events of the day.

“Some of the first people that called for the opening of the church were the Muslims here that have lived in this muhalla (neighborhood)” said Michael, a native of Newark, N.J., as he stood in the church courtyard in front of a statue of the Virgin Mary.

Many Muslim leaders attended the service as a sign of friendship and support to their Christian neighbors. Their attendance could be a sign that Muslims in the area have rejected AQI and embraced their Christian friends.

St. John’s Church hasn’t been spared from the destruction of war. In 2004, the church was attacked by terrorists and largely destroyed. It has since been rebuilt. Just a few weeks ago, Christians there raised a new cross on the steeple of the church.

Pale Horse Troop Finds Two Caches Buried in Soccer Stadium
Thursday, 08 November 2007
By Alexis Harrison
1st Cavalry Division Public Affairs

BAGHDAD — Soldiers from Troop P, 4th Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment (SCR), currently attached to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, found two weapons and explosives caches while on patrol in the Ramaniyah neighborhood, Nov. 5.

Buried under the bleachers of a soccer stadium in two locations, the Soldiers found (45) blocks of C-4 explosive, (33) mortars, almost (2000) rounds of ammunition, a rocket-propelled grenade and launcher, (2) sniper rifles, (2) protective vests and (1) grenade.

Capt. Marcus Melton, commander of ‘Pale Horse’ Troop of the Vilseck, Germany-based 4-2 SCR, said the cache find was quite uncommon for the area he and his men patrol on a regular basis.

“We've found random weapons during cordon and knocks, but never a bulk cache like this before," he said. "The area is checked often, and we're still trying to figure out how they got (the weapons and explosives) in there.”

The soccer stadium was checked just a few weeks ago, thus implying that the cache had been recently placed according to what Melton could tell from the last time his troops were there.

“This will definitely have an impact on whoever's operation this was,” Melton said. “Someone isn't very happy with us right now; that's for sure.”

Sgt. Chris Meyering from Rochester, N.Y, Spc. Danny Lee from Brooklyn and Staff Sgt. Elliott Davis from Lakewood, Wash., found the first cache buried under the bleachers after tamping the ground with a shovel. Meyering heard it hit something hollow-sounding and began to dig immediately.

“As soon as the shovel hit, I knew what it was,” he said. “I was pretty happy knowing that weapons were getting taken off the street.”

The first cache was the smaller of the two and was buried in a wooden box. After it was found, the troops began searching the stadium more thoroughly and came upon the second cache, which was slightly larger and buried in what looked like a chest freezer.

Melton said much of the mortar rounds and explosives found were in brand-new condition; still wrapped and in original containers with date stamps as recent as earlier this year.

Jewish Odysseus is mortified--well, I can't say "pleased"--to announce the first in what will no doubt be a loooooong series of posts emphasizing the inherently evil nature of "Sharia" (Islamic law). Yes, ladies and gentelemen, it appears our chief enemy has shifted from Godless Communism to Godless Islamism. This story came out of the Arab News, of Nov. 15:

Qatif Court Convicts Rape Victim
Ebtihal Mubarak, Arab News —

JEDDAH, 15 November 2007 — The General Court in Qatif yesterday doubled the number of lashes for a rape victim as well as jail terms for her assaulters. In its verdict, the court also suspended the victim’s lawyer from defending her.

The case was referred back to the General Court by the Appeals Court judges last summer after Abdul Rahman Al-Lahem, the victim’s lawyer, successfully contested against the initial verdict saying it too lenient for the rapists and unjust for the victim.

A year-and-a-half ago in the Eastern Province town of Qatif, a seven men gang-raped a 19-year-old girl 14 times. Three judges from the Qatif General Court sentenced the rape victim to 90 lashes for being in the car of an unrelated male at the time of the rape. The sentences for the seven rapists ranged from 10 months to five years in prison.

The Appeals Court sentenced the victim to 200 lashes and six months in prison. The seven rapists had their sentences increased to between two and nine years. The verdict came in as a shock to everybody.

A source at the Qatif General Court said that the judges had informed the rape victim that the reason behind doubling her punishment was “her attempt to aggravate and influence the judiciary through the media.”

Judge Soliman Al-Muhanna from the Qatif court told the lawyer (Al-Lahem) that the judicial committee had decided to suspend him from the case. They also confiscated his license which is granted to Saudi lawyers by the Ministry of Justice.

“I explained to them that it was my job to do everything legal in order to serve my client. But they did not listen,” he said.

We Remember.

Some of us remember the history behind this memorial...A history that is still being written, every day.

Look at this filthy jihadi scum. He needs a nice thick-glass beer bottle smashed right across his ugly masked mug. The Brits have got to reinstate public hangings for these rabid monkeys.

Why don't they at least rebuild the old Bedlam Lunatic Asylum for them? It looks like the Brits could fill it up with jihadi savages like this in a few days.

"Who will eat whom?"--Lenin

"We who do not know fear, we are the predators of the forest."--Child's song on the Hamas TV show of Farfur, the jihadi Mickey Mouse.

The Jews need to learn to be hunters.

We are not, and this failure may seal our doom.

It is difficult for someone who has never hunted before to appreciate the changes it forces on your thinking. Consider the ordinary hunt:

1. The hunter must focus on his target, his prey.
2. The hunter must calculate where the prey will be found, and when.
3. The hunter must find a way to position himself in a place where he will be able to kill or capture the prey, without the prey seeing him first--inside the prey's natural habitat.
4. The hunter must safeguard himself from dangers both indirect (hazardous terrain and extreme climates) and direct--the prey (or some other animal, or even a person) attacking him.
5. The hunter must have an appropriate weapon for the task.
6. The hunter must have a way to retrieve his prey should he kill it.

These challenges are not glorious or noble or incredibly complex. But they are essential for a successful hunt. Failure on any one of them will lead to a failed hunt. So a good hunter takes careful account of all of these factors before he sets out after his prey

Perhaps most critically, a hunter must force himself to objectify another living creature. By definition, the hunter must decide that his preference to kill his prey is superior to the prey's preference to live. The hunter is the subject, while the prey is the object. The only concern the hunter has for the prey's preferences and instincts is how to predict and rely on them so as to maximize his chance of killing the prey.

When hunting large carnivores, and even many large herbivores, the hunter must be aware that HE is no more than an object to his prey--an object that the prey absolutely MUST avoid. Or, if necessary, ELIMINATE. This is how the hunter becomes the hunted (or the object). Accordingly, any hunter who sets out after such dangerous prey must simultaneously visualize two mirror-opposite realities: how he can kill his prey (the prey's vulnerability) and how HIS PREY MAY KILL HIM (his own vulnerability). In this context, a "failure of imagination" can easily result in a dreadful maiming, if not death for the hunter.

Hunting occupies a proud place in both the Arab and Persian traditions. And it shows in the relentless and inventive efforts by the Arabs and Persians to destroy Israel. For many Jews, even Gentiles, it seems bizarre, surely inexplicable, that these countries don't recognize Israel and make amends with it. But in their hunter's minds, such a reconciliation is beyond preposterous. "The Zionist entity" is AN OBJECT to be hunted down, not a subject with which one sets down to negotiate peace. Does a hunter negotiate a treaty with a leopard? And if the leopard escapes the trap...Or the bullet misses...Or the bait is left untouched...There is always tomorrow. For a good hunter is patient.

Remember: The only concern the hunter has for the prey's preferences and instincts is how to predict and rely on them so as to maximize his chance of killing it.

For Israel, a land of Jews who have proven their valor and skill on the battlefield, the lack of hunting consciousness means they are constantly surprised that their interlocutor doesn't really want peace. And they never take steps to hunt down their hunters. Which is the only way they will ever break out of this deadly cycle.

The Jewish tradition has little to say about hunting, but what it does say is negative. The figure of Nimrod ("a mighty hunter") is one of a rebel who defies God and constructs the Tower of Babel, and Jacob's older brother, Esau, a hunter, was foolish enough to trade his birthright for a hot meal. Recent commentaries emphasize that "sport hunting" (hunting a non-menacing wild animal that is not needed for food or fur) is unacceptably cruel, "because it is done solely for pleasure."

But is that true? Is that perhaps an assumption made by people who just have not contemplated any worthy justification for sport hunting? A person who has been trained as a hunter develops many important skills:
Acuity of sight, hearing, and observation;
Focus, self-control and coolness at the key moment;
And finally, most critically, that ability to simultaneously visualize those two mirror-opposite realities: how he can kill his prey (the prey's vulnerability) and how HIS PREY MAY KILL HIM (his own vulnerability).

That last, I submit, is almost utterly absent amongst the Jews today. As their predatory enemies maneuver and scheme and launch dry runs and test attacks and probes against them, the brightest lights in Israel sit around to try to devise ways to cajole or bribe the predators to stop hunting them. The lack of clear understanding amongst Jews of the hunter/hunted dynamic is clear evidence that THEY NEED to learn and develop the ancient skills of hunting, to help ensure their national survival. If that isn't a valid reason to abandon the traditional Jewish attitudes and strictures against hunting, then what is?

Art Spiegelman published two powerful cartoon books on the Holocaust, Maus and Maus II. To read these books is to see the Jews as essentially clueless prey animals (mice) as they were rounded up, degraded, and ultimately annihilated by their brutal, cruel, but focused hunters (Cats/Germans--and, yes, like the Arabs and Persians, the Germans also had a long tradition of hunting.) And while history demonstrates that some Jews were never fooled, and responded adeptly, even heroically, there is no doubt that almost all of the Jews of Europe allowed themselves to be maneuvered into a position where their destruction--and that of their children--was almost assured.

Can anyone doubt that history would have had a much different spin had the Jews of Europe been raised in a tradition that honored hunting rather than denigrated it? What if a large portion of them had developed those skills and instincts uniquely sharpened by hunting?

A few years ago some villagers in a remote region of the island of Sarawak got fed up with a huge man-eating crocodile. According to one of the villagers, after luring the predator near the shore, they rushed into the Lupar River after it:

"With parangs(sharp swords made by local Iban [tribesmen]), axes and tough thread, [note--no guns!] we fight for around half an hour and managed to kill the cold blooded terminator. It was dangerous because its sharp teeth, powerful tail & tough skin which was as tough as thick hardwood."

Here is the photo--this nineteen-foot beast weighed more than a ton:

To be fair, Jewish tradition teaches us that such hunting against a predatory animal is indeed encouraged. But how can one expect to hunt effectively against a dangerous and cunning beast without real-world practice and training? Isn't that hopelessly unrealistic?

Until about 100 years ago, almost all the Jews in the world lived in some form of the shtetl, or Jewish quarter, as they had for generations uncounted. As we all know, in the modern era of citizenship and human rights this undignified existence was rightly condemned as obsolete. But it is almost as if Jews haven't internalized that, indeed, the shtetl is gone. The Czar/Sultan will not protect us. And we fully have it in our capability to protect ourselves.

The shtetl mentality appears to be deeply connected to our peculiar rejection of hunting.

It is about a century and a half since Charles Darwin developed his theory of natural selection. Since that time, there has been a lot of controversy about the philosophical implications of that theory, but no-one questions one of its basic assumptions: a species that does not adapt to a new and unfavorable environment cannot survive. Today in the Jewish year 5768, Jews are faced with an environment of incredible contrast: never before has it been easier for the bulk of the Jews on earth to arm and effectively defend themselves. However, never before have Jews been confronted with so many various predators planning violence against them.

In this environment, it is simply irresponsible to discourage the study and practice of hunting by Jews. To do so makes it significantly less likely that we can survive in a free and dignified condition. Or even survive at all.

In case YOU didn't know, that smiling gentleman is the great Muhammad Yunus, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for his amazing efforts and successes through the Grameen Bank he established in Bangladesh in 1976.

What does it mean when Dr. Yunus is at best ignored (if not attacked for "anti-Muslim usury") while Bin Laden t-shirts can't be printed fast enough?
