YOU CAN NEVER GET TOO MUCH OF THIS KIND OF ATTITUDE...
"In closing let me thank you, the American people, for giving me the great honor of allowing me to serve as your President. When the Lord calls me home, whenever that may be, I will leave with the greatest love for this country of ours and eternal optimism for its future.
I now begin the journey that will lead me into the sunset of my life. I know that for America there will always be a bright new dawn ahead."

I love the picture phil. I don't think I've seen that one before. Can I borrow it? I sure do miss him. what do you think of Fred Thompson? He reminds me of Reagan - ya think?

Be my guest, Chase, I linked it from the Reagan Library site--you cd spend a whole day just looking at the photos there!
That was from 1964--here is the link:

As for Thompson, he's OK, but he's 3d on my list right now...
1--NEWT
2--Mitt
3--Fred
Newt reminds me the most of Reagan, he's a truly historical figure. If you removed 2 individuals from the Repub party the last 40 years, they'd amount to about ZERO.
One was Reagan.
The other is NEWT.
Which is why they hate him so much.
That is a great picture indeed, and nobody and I are with you, Phil, in that we both are quite into Newt. We quite like Mitt as well, and need to know more about Fred. Rudy does have a warm way about him and I will always love him for throwing the Saudis' money back in their faces.
I'm with you fellers (O Brother Where Aren't Thou) I have a calendar of Reagan, and I am reinvigorated every time I glance up and see it.
I also agree about Newt. He got my Dad fired up back in the 80's with his special order speeches on CSPAN run in the early a.m.'s. Newt is an idea man, and at this time of two distinctly divergent visions for the nation, I'm looking for a leader that has the vision of freedom.
I am ready to send the Democratic Party to the ash heap of history like the Federalist Party that was defeated by the republican vision of Thomas Jefferson. This is what I write about on my own blog. I believe this is an important age and it is so cool to be in the movement.
Nancy, I gotta say I am impressed by someone like you, who stands up for freedom under your real name...I've been reluctant since my first online Islamic death-threat back in 1994 (I had insulted the Religion of Peace).
I think Newt may be too clever by 1/2, I think he needs to plunge in if he wants it.
Marzouq, thanks for the input, but I'd prefer Gingrich/Thompson. ;- )
I welcome you to this blog, standing shoulder-to-shoulder against the forces of Satan.
And thank God for the BLESSED CLARITY that he has shown us, through his vessel, Hamas. If only we are wise enough to see it for what it is.
