A SALUTE (AND A PRAYER) FOR A FINE JOURNALIST AND A CLASSY LADY



Every morning ABC's Robin Roberts begins the day the way journalists used to behave: straight, fair reporting unslanted by personal bias, a professional but friendly demeanor, and a fine but unobtrusive sense of humor.

She began today's broadcast the same way, but in the second half-hour disclosed that she was just diagnosed with breast cancer. Especially shocking for an athletic, youthful-looking 46-year-old woman.

Here's hoping and praying for the skills of her doctors and her speedy recovery. We have so few of these honorable throwbacks left, we can't afford to lose her!
