Well-meaning free-marketers have a dangerous blind-spot when it comes to illegal immigration. Stories like this happen every single day in these United States, and while the media tries to downplay them, they are horribly corrosive to faith in our political authorities and sworn law-enforcement officials:

LAKELAND | Through nine arrests, no one questioned whether 14-year-old Noel Cruz-Diego was in the U.S. legally until he was charged with burglary, robbery and stabbing a Lakeland man 43 times last month.

Juvenile arrest reports obtained by The Ledger this week detail charges against him during 2 1/2 years and show that law enforcement knew for at least two years the teen was born in Mexico.

But an immigration detainer wasn't placed on the teenager until recently by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, when the agency was notified of Cruz-Diego's questionable status by the Polk County Sheriff's Office, according to DHS officials.

Although a minor, Cruz-Diego faces adult charges in the most recent case, in which he is accused of breaking into Daniel Granton's home Nov. 18 and stabbing him.

Let's just run the numbers in this ghastly story:

14 tender years of age.

9 arrests...

...in 30 months.

2 burglaries in 1 hour, the 2d of which resulted in...

43 stab wounds.

Garro said Granton left pools of blood on her front door and sidewalk, then collapsed underneath her carport on his way to the back door."

No, no, NOOO, this is not what Emma Lazarus had in mind. It's long past time libertarian-oriented stopped averting their eyes to it, and started contributing to a remedy to this eminently remediable problem. Even if we didn't apply a "zero-tolerance" policy for illegal aliens, why not a "two-strikes and you're out" policy?

It would have saved Daniel Granton a few quarts of blood.

Islam in grisly, cannibalistic action...And not a kaffir in sight.

I've been reading the Wall Street Journal for many years, and their editorial page is usually brilliant. But a few years ago I started noticing sentences...paragraphs...even whole articles in the news sections that could just as easily have been published by, you should excuse the expression, the New York Times. Strangely, a lot of them seem to involve a perspective on the world that is, if not actively pro-jihadi, certainly internalizes a lot of the pathological "grievances" and sick mythologies of the "Muslim world."

Take this story from today's WSJ frontpage. A nasty jihadi bomb went off in a graduation ceremony in Mogadishu, Somalia, where a number of graduating medical students (a rare commodity in that thoroughly Islamicized hell-hole) were murdered, along with government ministers. The story recounts a little of the history of Somalia, including US involvement there:

A blundered U.S. invasion in 1993 left 18 Americans and as many as 500 Somali civilians dead. The image of the bodies of American soldiers being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu -- later revisited in the movie "Black Hawk Down" -- became a cautionary tale in U.S. foreign policy. After that, the country descended into chaos.

Uhhhh, that's one way to look at it. Did I walk through a parallel universe where the The Nation calls itself the Wall Street Journal? Huuhhhh?

Does Journal owner Rupert Murdoch even read his own news pages anymore?

Here is the latest casus belli from Egypt, which has made it a national mission for nearly 30 years to negate and nullify a solemn treaty which gained them 22,000 square miles of territory, Israel-developed oil-assets, and critical strategic grounds. Not to mention Mount Sinai, a locale of considerable significance to a certain group of people.

Often forgotten is a key provision of the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Agreement ("Camp David Accords") that encourages, how shall we say..."neighborliness" between the parties. To be specific, here is Annex III, Article V (according to the text posted at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website):

	The Parties recognize a mutuality of interest in good neighborly relations and agree to consider means to promote such relations.

How, then, does this despiccable and revolting video, broadcast on Egyptian television, constitute anything but a gross and inflammatory violation of the Agreement?

Of course this is not the only such violation by the Mizraihim, but it may be the most over-the-top. It's like they're trying to see how far they can kick Da Joooooooooooooos before they will let out a yelp of complaint.

We all know that spinelessness breeds contempt. If only the Israeli Cabinet understood this.

Twenty-eight months ago a determined climatologist named Steve McIntyre unearthed a huge, and hugely embarassing "error" by global warming guru Jim Hansen. Hansen had to go back and adjust his data, that suddenly pointed to a whole lot LESS global warming.

We all assumed at the time it was an "error." But now we have this leviathan fraud story coming from the Climate Research Unit in the UK...It is obvious that the global warming hacks have been cooking their books, models, and data since at least 1996, while scandalously suppressing honest scientists who disagreed with them. Oh, and also conspiring to destroy the data their projections were based on [actually NOT based on].

So how sure are we that James Hansen's 2007 "error" was just an "error?" And not a...FRAUD.

I said it here back nearly 3 years ago, and I'll say it again: Global warming isn't a hoax...It is a FRAUD.

IS IDENTIFICATION IMPORTANT?

If we are going to kill any snake we come upon, identification is not important. But if we hope to live and let live, we had better be able to identify them accurately.

TEL AVIV -- The U.S. and Israeli militaries began a combined air-defense exercise on Thursday involving about 1,000 American soldiers and simulating a scenario in which U.S. forces deploy to Israel to help defend the country against incoming missiles.

The three-week drill, the fifth since 2001, is part of a growing partnership between the two militaries that has coincided with rising fears in Israel about Iran's growing arsenal of missiles and nuclear ambitions.

"In time of need the Israel Defense Forces will protect our country, however, if decided, our defenses will be enhanced by the United States' capabilities," Israeli Air Defense Corps commander Brig. Gen. Doron Gavish told a news conference.

Britain's troubled relations with Iran have become further strained by a row about an ancient Persian artefact described as the world's first charter of human rights.

The British Museum is refusing to honour an agreement to lend the Cyrus cylinder to Iran because of the political turmoil that has gripped the country since the violently disputed re-election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in June.

The Iranian authorities have responded by threatening to sever links with the British Museum if it delays lending the 2,500-year-old cylinder, which was ordered by the Persian king Cyrus the Great to enshrine religious toleration.

Persian scholars claim the museum is right to be wary of lending the cylinder because of attempts by antisemitic historians in Iran to attack Cyrus's reputation as the father of the Iranian nation.

On a visit to Tehran's Museum of Iran this week, Hamid Baqaie, vice president of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organisation, said: "The British Museum implies the post-election political situation in Iran as its main excuse not to loan the cylinder to Iran's National Museum."

He added: "If the British Museum continues to make excuses for not loaning the artefact to the National Museum, we will, unfortunately, cease any co-operation with them, including archaeological expeditions and research."

The director of the British Museum, Neil MacGregor, agreed to lend the 23cm-long (9in) clay cylinder in return for several Iranian treasures. Those pieces were the focus of a critically acclaimed exhibition about the era of Shah Abbas that sought to break down the perception of Iran as a hostile nation.

The cylinder was made around 530BC on the orders of Cyrus the Great after he invaded Babylon and freed its people from tyranny. It is known as the first charter of human rights as its cuneiform lettering decrees that everyone should be free to practise their own culture and religion. Iran's sizeable Jewish population trace their presence in Iran to this moment.

Hannah Boulton, head of press and public relations at British Museum, tried to play down the row. "When lending any material you have to check that is an appropriate moment," she said.

"We are committed to lending the Cyrus cylinder to Iran. We hope to be able to honour that commitment, we can't say when that will be. At the moment we are monitoring the situation in Iran."

I love stories like this about the oil industry for many, many reasons. A few big ones:

1) It is obvious that from the lowliest grunt in this project on up, every single person involved in it has done more real, productive work on this one aged oil field than Nobel laureate Barack Hussein Obama has done in his entire life. Come to think of it, more than his entire Cabinet, too.

2) Notice the scale of this oil-field: 2 billion [that's with a "B"] barrels of oil extracted from a single formation in BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA! AND STILL 79,000 barrels a day! That's nearly 29 million barrels a year. Do we ever see anything about this in the lamestream media?

3) If we can sink 9,000 oil-wells (not including the observation wells) into relatively populated Bakersfield CA, why the heck can't we sink even one into the desolate ANWAR region of Alaska?

4) Private industry applying its brain-power to increase efficiency and save money. Notice that this single technology effort will save one company (Chevron) more than $300 million a year. Has any government agency EVER done anything like that?

5) It underlines the great obstacles to exploiting petroleum "resources," an industry which is based on a "finite, dwindling" substance that was considered a nuisance until about 160 years ago. And it shows how American brain-power and creativity has ALWAYS been the leading force in that industry.

No, Prez. Hussein, oil companies don't make billions of dollars in profits by running outside holding their aprons out and catching million dollar bills that fall from the sky. In fact, they don't make a SINGLE dollar that way. They have to explore and research and engineer and adapt in some of the most hostile and challenging climates on earth. And then they risk having all their assets seized by hostile governments, including their own.

BTW, how easy does Hussein think it is to drill 660 observation wells in a single "used up" field? Using YOUR OWN money?

Chevron Engineers Squeeze New Oil From Old Wells
Steam Bath for Aging Field Adds Millions of Barrels of Crude Oil to Reservoir's Output

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.-- Chevron Corp. is employing new technologies in hopes of extending the life of one of the world's oldest and most prolific oil fields, a process that is being replicated elsewhere to help the energy industry squeeze more out of aging oil basins.

The Kern River field has produced more than 2 billion barrels of oil in its 110-year history, but Chevron estimates it still holds another 1.5 billion barrels.

Chevron is using the Kern River field as a real-world laboratory, testing enhanced recovery techniques and bringing in engineers from around the world to learn them. "The thing about being in this old oil field," said Chevron engineer Joe Fram, "you can try stuff."

To get as many of those barrels as possible out of the ground—and do so cheaply enough to turn a profit—Chevron is deploying high-tech temperature sensors to monitor its production, using three-dimensional computer models to plan its wells and filtering waste water from the fields through walnut shells so it can be re-used.

Chevron's renewed focus on Kern River shows both the opportunities and the challenges facing the oil industry as the giant discoveries of the last century, from Alaska's Prudhoe Bay to Mexico's Cantarell, begin to dry up. Prudhoe Bay, for example, has suffered production declines even though more than half its 25 billion barrels of oil remain in the ground.

To get the oil out of the Kern River field, Chevron injects steam into the ground, which heats the rock and thins out the gooey liquid so that it flows more easily to the surface. The process is far more expensive than conventional oil production, with thin profit margins that can disappear entirely when oil prices drop or costs rise.

It has drilled 660 observation wells equipped with sensors to track the temperature of the reservoir so engineers can see where heat is most needed, and has developed its own equipment to direct the steam there.

Those techniques have allowed Chevron to use half as much steam to produce a barrel of oil—for an annual savings of about $300 million, according to the company.

"By turning the burner down, we save a lot of money," said Paul Harness, a senior staff geologist in the Kern River field.

Giants Exxon Mobil Corp. and Royal Dutch Shell PLC are showing increasedinterest in such projects. Occidental Petroleum Corp. has extended the lives of fields in Oman, Colombia, and West Texas by injecting carbon dioxide, steam and other substances into the oil reservoirs.

Occidental President Steve Chazen said that with fewer new fields being discovered, maintaining production at old fields is the only way the industry will be able to meet demand for oil.

"In the long term, it's not how many fields get discovered. It's keeping the base decline under control," Mr. Chazen said.

Chevron hasn't reversed the Kern River's decline, but it has managed to slow it. Production is falling at a rate of about 2% per year, compared to an average of 7% per year from 1998 to 2005—which will mean millions of extra barrels of oil this year.

The company hopes eventually to coax out as much as 80% of the field's oil compared with the 30% that is typical in many fields around the world. Kern River had 628 million barrels of estimated reserves at the end of 2007, according to state data, up 16% from 2004.

Its longevity is already remarkable. In 1899, a father-and-son team of oil prospectors, digging by hand, struck oil by the bank of the Kern River, 100 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Within four years, more than 400 different companies were pumping 45,000 barrels of oil a day there, more than anywhere else in the country at that time.

Today, the Kern River field is a sea of pipelines, storage tanks and about 9,000 slowly bobbing pumpjacks that still pull nearly 79,000 barrels of oil a day from the rock below down from 140,000 barrels a day at its peak in the 1980s.

If companies can squeeze more oil out of their old fields, they don't need to find as many new ones—lessening the risk of expensive failures.

"If you can find a way to find the oil where you already are, with technology, a lot of that risk is gone," said John McDonald, Chevron's chief technology officer.

Vandals destroy ancient Negev site

Police yesterday arrested two Negev Bedouin on suspicion of vandalizing the southern archaeological park of Avdat as revenge for the recent demolition of homes in the area.

Police say the two suspects, aged 41 and 57, may have wreaked on Sunday what one high-ranking preservation official called "unparalleled damage" to the site.

A farmer in the area says he's experienced such revenge vandalism for years.

The two suspects are believed to have been angered by the demolition of a home of a relative; they deny they were involved and are slated to be arraigned today.

Avdat's archaeological section was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as a Heritage Site four years ago. The area was severely damaged in the late-night attack that occurred although a guard was nearby. The guard says he did not hear the shattering of archaeological finds.

The vandals knocked down arches thousand of years old, destroyed ancient columns that once supported houses of worship and spray painted the remains of a Byzantine church, according to Orit Bortnik, who heads the preservation efforts of the Israel Nature and Parks Protection Authority.

The head of the authority's southern district, Raviv Shapira, said he had "never seen anything like" the destruction at Avdat. Bortnik spoke of the staff's distress: "We walked around with tears in our eyes. The people who did this caused destruction like a pogrom. They destroyed the place."

Avdat is one of four ancient Nabatean cities in the Negev. All the reconstructed cities received the exclusive UNESCO status, but Avdat was considered unique, because it held some of the world's most ancient Byzantine churches, dating back to the third century CE.

Mr. Bary denied having threatened his daughter. He stated that in June when he confronted his daughter in her bedroom regarding Christianity, he grabbed the laptop computer she was working on. He stated that he lifted it to throw the computer and decided not to as he had invested too much money in it to break it.

So what did Mohamed Bary actually confess to, face to face with the stalwart clueless lawmen of the FDLE? Well, let's try "domestic violence." I'm not an Ohio lawyer, and I don't play one on TV, but I can read the Ohio statutes:

2919.25 Domestic violence.
(A) No person shall knowingly cause or attempt to cause physical harm to a family or household member.
(B) No person shall recklessly cause serious physical harm to a family or household member.
(C) No person, by threat of force, shall knowingly cause a family or household member to believe that the offender will cause imminent physical harm to the family or household member.

That would be a 4th degree misdemeanor, good for only 30 days jail, max.

Ahhhhh, but what about "child abuse"? I've already examined this theory, based on her Mom's confessed threat to move the whole family back to Sri Lanka. But it also qualifies in the case of the father's statement--Mohamed OBVIOUSLY inflicted mentall harm to the child by this action.

As used in this chapter, an "abused child" includes any child who:
(A) Is the victim of "sexual activity" as defined under Chapter 2907. Of the Revised Code, where such activity would constitute an offense under that chapter, except that the court need not find that any person has been convicted of the offense in order to find that the child is an abused child;
(B) Is endangered as defined in section 2919.22 of the Revised Code, except that the court need not find that any person has been convicted under that section in order to find that the child is an abused child;
(C) Exhibits evidence of any physical or mental injury or death, inflicted other than by accidental means, or an injury or death which is at variance with the history given of it. Except as provided in division (D) of this section, a child exhibiting evidence of corporal punishment or other physical disciplinary measure by a parent, guardian, custodian, person having custody or control, or person in loco parentis of a child is not an abused child under this division if the measure is not prohibited under section 2919.22 of the Revised Code.
(D) Because of the acts of his parents, guardian, or custodian, suffers physical or mental injury that harms or threatens to harm the child's health or welfare.

Child abuse in Ohio is a first degree misdemeanor, 6 months jail, max.

By the way, it's interesting how Mr. Bary secured the good offices of "Mr. Babak Darvish, Executive Director of the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Columbus and Mr. Romin Iqbal, Staff Attorney for CAIR OHIO," for his sit-down with the FDLE. And yet he couldn't help admitting to a crime.

Chalk up a win for The Good Guys.

YES, Rifqa Bary is SAFE, for at least 2 weeks—HOORAYYYY!! BARUCH HASHEM!!

Jewish Odysseus attended the Dependency Court hearing in Orlando’s Juvenile Court today, and it was almost enough to restore one’s faith in America. Guardian Ad Litem attorney Krista Bartholomew did an outstanding job for Rifqa, as did Orlando attorney John Stemberger. Florida’s Department of Children and Families also took a respectable (not to say courageous) position, opposing Rifka’s return to the Ohio Caliphate at least until Florida’s Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) could complete its own investigation into whether Rifqa’s family and—very significantly—the “surrounding community”— may threaten imminent harm to her.

(A few hours research into the Noor Mosque and a brief review of the Central Ohioans Against Terrorism website will surely suffice to prove to the FDLE that Rifqa has about as much chance of staying physically safe in Ohio as a rabbi in a yarmulke walking past the Gaza City Mosque after Friday prayers. And they will recommend accordingly.)

And I would be remiss if I didn’t praise the patient and thoughtful work done by Judge Daniel Dawson, who allowed all parties and their attorneys to make their points without any rush, and whose ruling that, yes, his Court DOES have jurisdiction over Rifqa’s case, was as clearly supported by the law as it was devastating to the jihadis’ plan to murder her.

Great work, Judge!

There were about 100 supporters of Rifqa there to provide moral support, including the great Tom Trento, from the Florida Security Council, and Usama Dakdok, a Christian evangelist from an Egyptian Coptic background. Both of them provided excellent and informative press conferences in front of the Courthouse, before the hearing.

Dependency Court proceedings are open to the public, but not the information in the files, so these hearings offer us a chance to gain some information on the case. Here are some of my factual observations/inferences:

1) Rifqa’s attorneys told Judge Dawson that her current foster-family (recall that she was removed from the Lorenzes a few weeks ago) would like to home-school her rather than enroll her in public school, and “they home-school their own children.” This is a very good sign that Rifqa is placed with a Christian family, in an environment she finds 100% welcoming. Her attorneys also asserted that Rifqa is “extremely happy with her foster-family.”

2) The DCF announced that the FDLE had only decided TODAY (8/21) to open an investigation into the case. Reading between the lines, this was a clear indicator that nothing but citizen activism directed toward Governor Charlie Crist and the DCF got Florida law enforcement (as opposed to the clueless, if not compromised, Ohioans) brought into the picture. Those thousands of calls, faxes and e-mails got results!

3) Rifka’s attorneys announced right off the bat that she wished to make a statement to the Court. Counsel for both parents leaped to object…WHY? Were they afraid of what they, and the public, were going to hear from her? Suffice it to say that Judge Dawson re-iterated “my policy” of allowing ANY party to make a statement to the Court, so long as it was done after review with counsel, and allowed Rifka to make her statement. In it, she emphasized her Christian faith, and chillingly, how much she both loves her family yet “fears for my life.”

4) In discussion with the Judge about visitation, Rifka’s attorney’s revealed that she DOES wish to have visitation with her brothers…but NOT with her parents. Hmmmm…

5) Both the DCF and the Guardian Ad Litem Attorney, Ms. Bartholemew, repeatedly mentioned their concerns for Rifqa’s safety. It appears that the critical “credibility battle” between those who deny any real danger from Islamist assassins and those who affirm it has been decisively won. The State and its institutions have recognized that we are not kooks.

Of course, this is one small battle in an 11-month war (until Rifqa turns 18). But it was an absolutely critical battle, one which would have been literally fatal had it gone the other way. The Noor Mosque and CAIR and the ISNA and the FIQH Council and all their filthy shariah-drunk subversive allies really took one on the chin tonight, so let’s all lift a glass for a few more weeks of safety for Rifqa, and pray that the One True God continues to keep and protect her.

Time to put on my Florida attorney hat, for a change…

We’re all appalled by the prospect of the threatened Islamist honor-murder of 17-year-old Rifqa Bary, who signed her own Islamist death-warrant by converting to Christianity and admitting it. But so long as Ms. Bary remains outside of the clutches of her vengeful parents, it is less likely that she will be murdered. The good news is that Ms. Bary's lawyers have an excellent case to keep her free, in accordance with Florida law.

Dependency Court (responsible for ruling on parental involvement in cases of alleged neglect or abuse of children) Judge Gail Adams has allowed Ms. Bary to be "sheltered" temporarily, while the Department of Children and Families investigates the past and potential homelife of Ms. Bary. It is important to note that Rifqa's parents have already confirmed to the Judge that they have committed actions that qualify as felony child abuse in Florida. Therefore, Judge Adams has ample legal authority to keep Rifka "sheltered" certainly for the 11 months it will take for her to reach her 18th birthday.

It must be said that we needn't speculate on whether Rifqa's parents have already committed child abuse against her, since her Dad, Mohamed, was thoughtful enough to confess on behalf of his wife, although obviously sugar-coating the murderous threat we all know was actually delivered:

She had a falling out with her mother the night before she disappeared, he said. He was out of town. [So why didn't the Court question the wife? Almost sounds like one of those Islamic courts where the woman's testimony is worth less than that of a man.--J.O.] Rifqa had gone out without permission, was gone more than three hours, and when she came home, her mother scolded her and told her that because of her behavior, the whole family might have to return to their native Sri Lanka, Mohamed Bary said.
His wife was upset and there were no plans to leave the U.S., Mohamed Bary said, but that apparently frightened his daughter.

Apparently.

Let us ask: What else but a severe, bona fide "mental injury" could cause a girl described by her father as "an excellent student, a cheerleader in a prestigious school in Columbus who got A's and B's [and] wanted to go to college and become a nurse," to suddenly flee her home and relocate a thousand miles away?

So that is what Mother Bary, via the hearsay testimony of her husband, has allegedly alleged. Well, THAT RIGHT THERE may be charged as felony child abuse under Florida law. For those who think I am exaggerating, I commend to you the following story that came out as this article was being prepared:

A Gainesville [Florida] father has been arrested for hitting his daughter with a pizza slice.
The 38-year-old man was arrested early Friday on a charge of child abuse without great harm, a third-degree felony. The man's name was being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Deputy Nick Vickers says the man used racist and sexist terms when he asked his daughter to turn off her computer, and she fired back with some crude language of her own.
Vickers says the father "intentionally threw a slice of pizza at the victim, striking her in the back of the neck, against her will."
The girl, whose age was not available, called 911 and her father was arrested.

And then there is Florida's legal definition of those activities that constitute child abuse--notice that if the parent only THREATENS to do something, and that threat only results in a mental injury that is LIKELY to cause the child's mental or emotional health to be significantly impaired, then there is child abuse...a VERY low standard...:

ABUSE: Any willful or threatened act or omission that results in any physical, mental, or sexual injury or harm that causes or is likely to cause the child's physical, mental, or emotional health to be significantly impaired. NEGLECT: Any act or omission where a child is deprived of, or allowed to be deprived of, necessary supervision, food, clothing, shelter, or medical treatment, or a child is permitted to live in an environment when such deprivation or environment causes the child's physical, mental, or emotional health to be significantly impaired or to be in danger of being significantly impaired. The foregoing circumstances shall not be considered neglect if caused primarily by financial inability unless actual services for relief have been offered to and rejected by the caretaker responsible.

THREATENED HARM: A situation, circumstances or behavior which leads a prudent person to have reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect has occurred or may occur in the immediate future if no intervention is provided.

When we link the (almost surely deceptively minimized) Bary parents' confession to Rifqa's much more harrowing claims, and to Florida's child abuse law, we have an open-and-shut case that Rifka Bary qualifies to be "sheltered" by the State. Considering her own near-adult status, her maturity, her clear wish to remain with Pastors Blake and Beverly Lorenz, and the Lorenzes clear ability and dedication to allow her to remain with them, it is a legally unassailable argument that she needs to be returned to the dedicated couple that probably saved her life, the Lorenzes.

Unless Judge Adams chooses to ignore the law, it is an easy call for her. Place Rifqa with the Lorenzes!

Oh, and by the way, if the Judge sends her back to her parents, there is a very credible chance that she will be promptly murdered by her own family, as has happened to so many young "disobedient" daughters in North American Islamic families recently. By the way.

She just resigned...surely no human knows if this decision is a blunder or a master-stroke. But there are other less ambiguous indicators that she is simply incapable of effectively thwarting her--and our--enemies on a national scale. Consider:

A: After her interview with ABC'S Charlie Gibson.

Q: When did her public approval begin to crater?
A: After her interview with CBS's Katie Couric.

Q: To whom did Sarah Palin give her first "in-depth interview" following her resignation?
A: To NBC's Andrea Mitchell.

His neo-Bolshevik ideology sees FoxNews as an implacably hostile, threatening force, doing the bidding of a bloodthirsty mega-capitalist...So Obama BOYCOTTED FOX for the entire campaign, until his election was assured.

Obama took his principle seriously, so he boycotted Fox. He was elected President. Sarah Palin sat down with Charlie and Katie...she L-O-S-T. She clearly does NOT take seriously the "myth of the liberal media," else she'd have recognized her resignation announcement as a golden opportunity to advance her agenda in a creative way. And if Palin doesn't take this major "conservative" principle seriously...then why should anyone else?

So what should Palin have done? Well, why not give her exclusive first interview to Fox's Brit Hume, a real tough-but-fair journalist in the old-school model? Or to Fox's Megyn Kelly, who utterly eviscerated the Us magazine editor who slimed Palin's family during the campaign? Why not give it to Glenn Beck, whose radio and tv ratings and web presence would provide a huge amplifier effect to the interview? Why not then go down the all-American list of talk-radio warriors, and even the blogosphere--from Rush Limbaugh to Laura Ingraham to Hugh Hewitt to AtlasShrugs? Why not finish up with a couple of old-fashioned sit-down interviews with print reporters like Cal Thomas and Mark Steyn, and maybe a guest column in the Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal? Or maybe the American Spectator, or the American Thinker?

No, better to let Andrea Mitchell choose which questions to ask, her cameramen choose which images to publish, and to let her NBC editors choose how to cut and paste Palin's answers. Good grief.

Reward your friends, and punish your enemies--this is Politics 101. Sarah Palin flunked it. And this 3d time, she can't blame it on passive-aggressive McCain staffers--this decision she made all by herself.

The lamestream media is dying. Why feed them? The alternative media is growing. Why not strengthen the right side of it? The very act of such a choice would generate its own legitimacy and wisdom.

He ran a disciplined campaign in which he effectively educated Americans about the shortcomings of his short opponent, and founded on one single promise. George Bush was easily elected, and then proceeded to spend the next 4 years breaking his promise, poking his supporters in the eye and pretending his enemies were his friends. For this he was dubbed "President Clueless," and with a cosmic justice was promptly drubbed and humiliated by a draft-dodging womanizing pathological liar. We must never again support any candidate who cannot competently discern her friends from her enemies, and accordingly reward the one and punish the other.

What does one do in a conflict when one holds a position that is both STABLE AND UNASSAILABLE? ONE MAINTAINS THAT POSITION!! EASY CHOICE!! What should Israel do if unhelpful country[ies] form a new proposal? EASY--repeat that CLEAR, STABLE, AND UNASSAILABLE position. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

The only things that could destabilize the position now are: [1] the "Pals" agree to demilitarize themselves, and accept his requirement for them [impossible], or [2] the US just gives up the Obamunist ruse, and "goes the full Monty" and starts shipping as much heavy weaponry as possible to the PA and cuts off all aid/cooperation with Israel [nearly impossible]. Of course, if Obama does that even now, it wd prove that a "purer right wing" position by Bibi would have done the same, so his "moderation" wd have cost him nothing.

For us, we have to learn an important word: PATIENCE. WAIT for the Hashemites to fall, wait for Assad to be blown up, wait for the Muslim Brothers to try a putsch in Egypt, and then have a plan in place to exploit the chaos that will ensue. Does anyone doubt that such events will come about soon?

And of course, Bibi will need to turn his attentions to militarily liquidating Iran's armaments industry, an objective that requires urgency, not patience. It needs to be assailed with every single weapon Israel has, including selective nuclear strikes. The operation needs to be redundantly targeted, to ensure success. Those mofos need to see that the 12th imam, if he exists, is NOT on their side, period.

Needless to say, once Persia is neutralized, both Syria and Lebanon will be much less troublesome.

I don't believe any of these objectives are outside of Bibi's military capacity today.

I am as ideological as anyone, but I just don't see Bibi's position as vulnerable in any way, absent a well-documented Israeli mania to fix engines that ain't broke. I'll never forget reading a string of stories not very long ago about how the PLO was running out of money, what with the USSR gone, how they were selling off big real estate holdings around the Arab world just to keep the lights on...THE PLO WAS LIQUIDATING ITSELF, PEOPLE!! So how did Israel's leadership [Rabin] react as their mortal enemy croaked out its last breaths? "Why, we need to RESUSCITATE THAT B!TCH, with fresh Oslo oxygen!!" And the rest is history.

Judea and Samaria, while holding out just enough hope for the Balesdinians so that no-one can argue he's being unreasonable, or "against peace."

The funny thing is that the Bals instantly asserted that the speech "is a slap in Obama's face" (which of course it was), but the cowardly Obamunists, true to their Leninist heritage, immediately backed down in the face of strength: ""The President welcomes the important step forward in Prime Minister Netanyahu's speech," was the White House statement. See, at the end of the day, Obama, like all his leftist and Islamist pals, is just a mean-spirited bully, and bullies always turn cowards when confronted with determined strength.

*sell poisoned toys to Arab kids;

As we know, those wild-eyed Jewish "settlers" living in Judea and Samaria--ohhh, pardon me, "the West Bank"--want nothing more than to expell all those Ayyrabs they can't murder, and of course steal their precious olive trees, goats and chickens. We know this because the lamestream media relentlessly pounds this into our heads, day after day, month after month, decade after decade. So how can we reconcile Jameel's story of dozens of "settlers"--joined by the equally eeeeeevil Israeli "occupation soldiers" --successfully working with Arab rescue teams to save the lives of several Arab passengers involved in an horrific car crash? As Jameel brilliantly notes:

"I've been present at accidents before where there was cooperation between Jews and Arabs in the West Bank. This wasn't the first time I've worked side by side with Palestinian Red Crescent EMTs. However, what struck me as unique was the teenage volunteers.

I must take issue with one assertion of Jameel, who wrote that it was "irrelevant" that all of the victims were "Palestinian." No, amigo, it is NOT irrelevant when the multitudinous forces of evil of the world, mindlessly assisted by the even more multitudinous cowards and moral cretins, are constantly accusing you of genocide, attempted genocide, and conspiracy to commit genocide against the noble Balesdinian beoble.

When America's disgusting and disgraceful President spewed out his recent 17-hours-long "address to the Muslim world" in Cairo, he didn't take issue with one single blood libel, didn't ridicule a single insane anti-Jewish Arab rumor, didn't knock down a single vulgar lie propagated by the gutter Arab press. So publishing truthful, day-in-day-out stories like this, and specifically noting the good works of those eeeeeevil settlers towards the Balesdinians, is NOT irrelevant.
