I just heard the normally intelligent Charles Krauthammer AGAIN (this time to Bill O'Reilly) cite the late great Bill Buckley as evidence that Delaware conservatives were crazy to support Christine O'Donnell over Mike Castle: "William F. Buckley always said to support the most conservative candidate who could WIN...What is at stake is the chance to control the Senate." [pretty close to verbatim]

Nice try, Charles, but how stupid do you think we are? You were a big-shot pundit awaaaaaayyyy back in 1988, when dinosaurs roamed the earth and William F. Buckley single-mindedly, and almost single-handedly, led a campaign TO UNSEAT AN INCUMBENT REPUBLICAN SENATOR. Remember? Does the name "Lowell Weicker" ring a bell, Chuck? He was part of the GOP Senate MAJORITY from 1980 to 1986, but he was so liberal (and so venomously anti-Reagan) that WFB took it upon himself to find a candidate to defeat him. His solution to the Weicker problem? Joe Leiberman--a Democrat. Buckley supported a Democrat against an incumbent Republican because Weicker was actually a "Republican"--a RINO.

Did that really work out so bad for the conservative cause? Hell, the guy even threw the 2000 VP debate for Dick Cheney!

Charles, for a very smart guy (even though you did write for that New Deal flagship "New Republic" for all those years), you can be pretty stupid from time to time. Here's a little message for you and for all your fellow GOP old-bull wise-guys, like Karl "Tokyo" Rove:

REJECTING DHIMMITUDE: IT'S A BEAUTIFUL THING!!

Well, Pastor Jones fumbled the ball at the 1-yard line, but the man with a koran plan opened a lot of eyes to this bizarre reality we live in 2010: Americans in America are actually worried about bruising the sensibilities of the most primitive and violent people on earth, thousands of miles away, if we exercise our free speech rights in the good old US of A. And the President and Secretaries of State and Defense ENCOURAGE THEM to be worried. Huh?!

Certainly blowing the shofar at the Kotel (the Western Wall of King Solomon's Temple) is not the same as burning a koran, but the underlying principle of this fabulous story is the same: Muslim imperialists pretend that the activities of non-Muslims are an affront to their faith; they threaten uncontrollable violence if thus affronted; and "responsible" (cowardly) authorities indulge the Muslim threats by repressing the "offensive" behavior.

Well, as we can see, in Jerusalem from 1930 to 1947, they didn't back down. And look at the results! Look at the faces of these old men, as they recount how, as youths, they REJECTED FEAR AND DHIMMITUDE. Do the decades not fall from their faces as they go into the beautiful details? And we all know that, by 1967, no-one could ever prevent the Jews from blowing the shofar at the Kotel again:



If we had a little of the same vision and determination here in America (and Europe), we might indeed see churches and synagogues being built in Mecca and Medina in a few decades, in fraternal proximity to the mosques. Persistent, forceful and friendly persuasion would surely open the minds and hearts of Muslims to see that these 14 centuries of imperialism and aggression need to be definitively canceled.

NEWSMAX BLOWS ITS CREDIBILITY ON FLORIDA GOVERNOR'S RACE.

After weeks of shamelessly shilling for a broken down phony lamestream Republican, Newsmax has wound up with egg on its face with the humiliating loss of Bill McCollum to Rick Scott. With a motley crew of FL coat-holders and clueless national figures (Et tu, Michael Reagan?) united to drag him across the finish line, Mr. McCollum was stymied by a man who actually earned money in the private sector for his entire adult life, and by voters who didn't buy the preposterous idea that Bill "I was against the AZ immigration law before I was for it" McCollum, a man whose only job "outside" of government was as a lobbyist, was a principled conservative.

The fact is, with the Scott victory, Florida is approaching a "perfect storm" favoring the GOP in November. The dynamic between Marco Rubio, Rick Scott, their energized conservative voters and the down-ballot races threatens to create an unprecedented statewide debacle for Florida dhimms! (and look for Newsmax to develop amnesia about its gag-reflex shilling and end up adoring Rick Scott).

REVIEWING THE RECORD ON RIFQA BARY

Not to say, "I told you so," but it appears that Rifqa Bary's Ohio legal team has pulled the rabbit out of the hat, and secured her from her parents' custody forever. Tom Trento, of the Florida Security Council, has posted 2 info-packed and insightful video interviews with Rifqa's lead attorney, Kort Gatterdam, here and here.

Rifqa's lawyers were repeatedly and viciously attacked in the past year by well-meaning Net kibbitzers who should have known better and should have acted like responsible adults. I firmly and patiently advised those parties that their hysterics were in no way helpful to Rifqa, but could only encourage her enemies. At the end of the day, we see that was exactly the case, as recounted by Mr. Gatterdam.

At 1:40 of the 2d part of the interview, Mr. G. gives the BOTTOM bottom-line, as yours truly wrote in almost the exact same words six months ago:

I could have presented six days of apostasy and shariah law, but if on the 7^th day the judge said “Rifqa, you lose,” then how have I helped Rifqa? My goal was to get the result for her, however we need to do it, within the bounds of the law.”

Amen to that, Brother Gatterdam!
